Sean Dailey reacted on thisSean Dailey reacted on thisNext Monday I start a new chapter. I’m joining Fluent, Inc. as Engineering Manager, Core Development. After 7+ years at Chowly — growing from Principal Engineer to Senior Engineering Manager — I’m taking everything I’ve learned building and leading teams at startups and bringing it to a publicly traded company. A few things drew me here: → Fluent’s Commerce Media business has grown triple digits year-over-year every quarter for the last two years. That kind of sustained growth means R&D processes need to scale with it — not become the bottleneck. That’s a problem I’ve spent my career solving. → I’ll be working with Dan Duling, Fluent’s SVP of Technology. Dan was CTO at Chowly when I stepped into engineering management. We built a strong working relationship, and the fact that he wanted to work together again says more than I could. → Fluent’s product is built on AI in ways I haven’t worked with before. I’m eager to dig in. → And after a decade at startups, the stability and scale of a larger public company is something I’m ready for. I’m not going anywhere on LinkedIn. If anything, I’ll have more to share. New company, new scale, same lens: how engineering leaders actually navigate this stuff in practice. More to come once I get my bearings. What’s the best advice you’d give someone starting a new engineering leadership role?
