New research shows the Teacher Academy of Maryland (TAM) is making a real impact on the teacher shortage with participants 45% more likely to become teachers within a decade! At PGCPS, that impact is clear: • 75% of TAM students earned paraprofessional certification over the past three years • Program applications are up ⬆️ • Expansion to a fourth high school is underway By investing in students already in our classrooms, we’re building a sustainable future for Maryland education! https://lnkd.in/eyMJEb_z

Prince George's County Public Schools reposted this
Today, with PGCPS’ Human Resources and transportation leadership team, I am proud to recognize 16 remarkable individuals in Prince George's County Public Schools who have chosen to step forward, grow, and lead. Through our Transportation Leadership Academy, these emerging leaders committed themselves to a vision larger than position or title. They engaged in a grow your own model that reflects what we know to be true. Sustainable systems are built not only by recruiting talent but by cultivating it from within and investing in those who already carry the values, the commitment, and the lived understanding of our communities. Transportation is often unseen when it works well. Yet it is one of the most critical levers in a school system. It is the bridge between home and school. It is the first touchpoint in the morning and the last in the afternoon. It shapes attendance, readiness, and trust. These 16 leaders understand that. They understand that every route is about more than efficiency. It is about access. It is about dignity. It is about ensuring that every child, regardless of circumstance, arrives ready to learn and returns home safely. Their commitment represents the very best of PGCPS. Discipline. Growth. Purpose. A belief that excellence must be built, not hoped for. As we continue our work to move from pockets of excellence to excellence at scale, leadership matters. And today, we celebrate 16 individuals who have answered that call. The future of our transportation system is stronger because of you. #PGCPSProud
