In Boston’s Seaport District, Consigli successfully installed a 97-foot pedestrian walkway, connecting Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ Leiden Center I and II. Prefabricated off-site in just four weeks, the 160,000-pound bridge was installed in one carefully planned move. To avoid disrupting ongoing research inside Leiden I, much of the work was done overnight, including temporarily removing 22 glass façade panels in harsh winter conditions. Bancroft Hall, home to the United States Naval Academy’s Brigade of Midshipmen, is one of the Academy’s most historic buildings and is recognized as the largest single college dormitory in the world. As part of its multi-phase renovation and preservation, Consigli and our self-perform craftspeople restored the historic Rotunda, repaired the central staircase and expanded berthing across several dormitory wings. The Roux Institute at Northeastern University's new Portland campus is a project that checks all the boxes when it comes to complex construction elements — and that’s exactly what excites Consigli's #GenuineBuilders. Its curved and cantilevered centerpiece building — The Alfond Center — features a 3-story mass timber wing and a custom, fully unitized curtainwall façade, and is equipped with geothermal wells to support the largest ground source heat exchange system in Maine.
