We unite everyday people to unlock their financial progress.
About us
Chime was created because we believe everyone can unlock financial progress, and we want to develop solutions and services to empower people to succeed. The premise upon which we started Chime is simple: basic banking services should be helpful, transparent, and easy. Our easy-to-use tools and intuitive platforms give members the ability to have more control over their money and to take action toward achieving their financial ambitions. By designing a member-centric banking app with easy-to-understand financial tools, we’re creating a more competitive market with options for everyday Americans. We offer access to accounts with no overdraft fees, provide members the chance to receive their pay up to 2 days early* with direct deposit, help them build credit history, and build financial literacy to hit their goals—among many other things. Since 2012, we’ve grown our team to more than 1300 Chimers across 3 offices. But more than that, we’ve expanded the products and services we offer to our members based on member feedback. And in doing so, we’ve disrupted the banking industry and changed the conversation for everyday people about money on a national level. Chime is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC. *Early access to direct deposit funds depends on the timing of the submission of the payment file from the payer. We generally make these funds available on the day the payment file is received, which may be up to 2 days earlier than the scheduled payment date.

Big ideas need space to grow. 💡 As we wrap up Women’s History Month, we’re reflecting on two powerful moments at Chime: our Eng Women+ Summit and Women in Product Summit — spaces designed to connect, learn, and build together. At our most recent Women in Product Summit, a hands-on AI agents workshop led by Senior Product Manager Sarah Ni stood out for transforming curiosity into real solutions: In just a few hours, PMs went from exploring ideas to building tools now being used across Chime. From technical deep dives to creative connection, these summits were a reminder of what’s possible when women come together to share, build, and push boundaries.💚 Read about the AI workshop → https://lnkd.in/e46E_fgc

With 1 week left to apply for the Chime Scholars Foundation, we’re inspired by Scholars like Evelyn who are building what’s next. Apply by March 31 → https://lnkd.in/e-32896x
Turning personal experience into public impact—that’s what the Chime Scholarship Foundation has helped me do. Leaving home to build a new vivencia in the Bay Area has been both daunting and exciting. I’ve learned that real transformation often happens in the small pockets of campus life: spaces where students advocate, innovate, and reimagine the world around them. For me, being rich in experiential learning has meant pursuing research and building community, opportunities that aren’t always accessible without financial support. In community college, I taught myself how to navigate transfer agreements, financial aid forms, and course catalogs. That experience taught me something important: you create your own luck by staying informed, staying curious, and making sure people know who you are. At Berkeley, I do that ten times over. I speak up, ask questions, and advocate for myself. That’s the spirit of the Chime Scholar Network. As a fellow scholar, Temiloluwa Ogunleye reminds me, “Any experience can be worth writing about if you show what it taught you and how it shaped who you are.” https://lnkd.in/gvqBq7Km How will you tell your story during the Chime Scholarship Application? Applications for the 2026–2027 Chime Scholars Foundation close March 31. #ChimeScholars

The proposal might get the spotlight, but today’s couples are thinking bigger. 💍 New data from Chime shows a shift: Engagement is becoming less about a single moment and more about the future couples are building together — starting with honest conversations about money, goals, and what “ready” really means. Because saying “yes” isn’t just about a ring. It’s about starting on the same financial page — so couples can Unlock Financial Progress, together. Two metrics tell our AI story at Chime: Our cost to serve is down nearly 30%, while average revenue per active member is up 23%. In short, we're serving members better and spending less doing so — and customer satisfaction is up, too. We aren’t just harnessing AI as a company, we want to empower our members with it as well. Later this year, we’ll introduce entirely new AI products that give members a clearer picture of their financial life and smarter tools to manage it.

Not every career pivot starts with fireworks — some start with noticing just a spark. ✨ To continue our celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting two leaders who built careers by leaning into their strengths and continuing to advocate for them. 📚 Jyo Natarajan followed her love of language into tech, and now builds systems that empower teams. 💥 Darcy Dietrich learned early that waiting rarely works. So she creates the opportunity instead. Growth isn’t accidental. It’s intentional. Explore their journeys → https://lnkd.in/dC8s2ezv

For the second consecutive quarter, Chime led the industry in new checking account openings. More Americans are choosing Chime than any other provider when opening a new checking account, reinforcing Chime’s position as America’s #1 choice in banking™. In Q4 2025, 12.8% of all new checking accounts opened nationwide were with Chime — the highest share in the study and over 50% more than the second place — well ahead of every bank and fintech measured. Chime continues to be a top choice across income segments and leads in the mass market category. Report from JD Power: https://lnkd.in/eFHbx3pW
