As water-related risk intensifies, corporate water disclosure is quickly becoming a business-critical priority, not just an ESG add-on. Apex analyzed 58 publicly listed companies and found that while reporting is increasing, it remains heavily focused on basic quantity metrics, with limited insight into water quality, supply chain impacts, and regional risk. Investor demand is accelerating, but disclosure practices are still fragmented, inconsistent, and often reliant on internal protocols. Compared to climate reporting, water data lacks standardization, depth, and widespread assurance, leaving gaps in transparency and decision-making. Steven Ball, P.E., project manager for Johnson Engineering, LLC. An Apex Company, joined community leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of Alva High School, the newest addition to the School District of Lee County. The High School will provide learning space for 2,000 students, a full athletic program, and will focus on the original Alva community roots with a full agricultural learning program. When completed, the school will become the district’s 16th high school, supporting the continued growth of eastern Lee County. Apex recently supported a client in California with the remediation of soil and groundwater impacted by 1,4-dioxane, a compound known for its high solubility in water and complex treatment challenges. Our team implemented an integrated approach that combined soil washing, groundwater capture, and enhanced heated soil vapor extraction to improve contaminant removal. Extracted groundwater was treated with ozone to meet waste discharge permit requirements before release. Soil remediation is now complete, and groundwater treatment is in its final phase. #Remediation #ApexCompanies #Groundwater

Apex celebrates a recent new hire and promotions within our Senior Leadership team to support growth and stronger alignment across Apex. We welcome new hire Evan Seale, our Commercial Stormwater (CSW) Business Unit Leader. Evan brings experience leading field-based teams, delivering on a national scale. He has worked with crews, supervisors, and managers to improve safety, planning, and day-to-day operations. Evan has also led teams responsible for budgets, equipment, systems, and training. He began his career as an Army officer serving with the elite 75th Ranger Regiment where he conducted multiple deployments to Afghanistan leading teams in complex, high-stakes environments. We also congratulate Mark Leece – West Business Unit Leader and Dan Delahunty – Central Business Unit Leader on their promotions. They join Ryan Trahan, P.E. – East Business Unit Leader who continues to drive growth in our East Region. We’re grateful to see our OR 99E: S Pine Street to Berg Parkway project recognized with an Honor Award from ACEC Oregon. What began as a pavement rehabilitation effort evolved into a broader corridor modernization through close collaboration with Oregon Department of Transportation, the City of Canby, rail partners, and a multidisciplinary project team. Along this 1.5-mile stretch, the project delivered meaningful safety and accessibility improvements, including ADA-compliant curb ramps, accessible transit stops, upgraded rail crossings, sidewalk infill, signal modernization, stormwater system replacement, and traffic-calming measures—all while maintaining access for freight, businesses, and the community during construction.
