Major news for the Midwest tech landscape - Google has been confirmed as the force behind 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗶. This 1GW data center campus in Van Buren Township, Michigan, is being developed by Panattoni on a 282-acre site. It represents a massive investment in both digital infrastructure and clean energy. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 🔹 A 282-acre site featuring three buildings totaling 800,000+ sq. ft. 🔹 Partnering with DTE Energy to add 2.7GW of new clean energy to the Michigan grid (Solar + Storage). 🔹 A $10M Energy Impact Fund to support local utility affordability. 🔹 A power agreement locked in through 2047. Michigan is rapidly becoming a premier hyperscale hub, joining the ranks of major markets as Google aligns with other tech giants like Oracle and Microsoft in the state. This project proves that massive digital growth and aggressive clean energy goals can - and should - go hand-in-hand. #DataCenters #CloudInfrastructure #CleanEnergy #GoogleCloud #MichiganTech #Sustainability #ProjectCannoli #BuildingCareersStructuringSuccess

Ever wonder what’s actually keeping those massive steel buildings from sinking into the ground? 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚'𝙨 𝙖 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙠𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 "𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙨" 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙚: 1. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟰𝗗 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 The label 24D refers to the Development Length. It ensures the vertical steel bars are embedded deep enough into the base so they don't pull out under tension. The "D" stands for the diameter of the bar. 2. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗖𝗖 "𝗕𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴" 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 The 100 mm PCC (Plain Cement Concrete) at the bottom isn't for structural strength. It provides a clean, level "mud mat" to keep the structural rebar away from soil moisture and dirt, preventing corrosion before the main pour. 3. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹? The Pedestal acts as a transition. It transfers the heavy load from the slim Steel Column to the wide Footing Base, while keeping the steel base plate above the Ground Level (GL) to prevent rusting from soil contact. 4. 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗱 ▫️ T8 @ 150 C/C: Refers to 8 mm diameter steel ties spaced 150 mm apart (Center-to-Center). ▫️ Both Way: Rebar is placed in a grid to prevent the concrete from cracking or curling upward as the ground pushes back against the building's weight. 5. 𝗙𝗙𝗟 𝘃𝘀. 𝗚𝗟 The FFL (Finished Floor Level) is 600 mm higher than the GL (Ground Level). This elevation protects the building interior from surface water and flooding. Ultimately, this foundation is a masterclass in load distribution. It takes the massive, concentrated weight of a steel building and spreads it across a wide surface area of soil. By combining strategic steel reinforcement with corrosion-resistant layers, the design ensures the structure remains stable for decades. #Construction #FabrGlobal #ExecutiveSearch #Insights #BuildingCareersStructuringSuccess

🏗️ 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙉𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙚? 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝. In construction, we know you can’t "fake" a solid foundation. The same applies to your career. Many people talk about needing more discipline to make a career change, but as this video reminds us, discipline isn't something you "find" - it’s what happens when you finally stop lying to yourself. ▫️ The Lie: "I'm doing okay where I am." (Even though you've hit a ceiling). ▫️ The Truth: "I know I can do more. I know I’m built for a bigger challenge." If you’re considering a move in the industry, stop waiting for the "right time" or "more discipline." Start by being honest about where you are and where you want to be. When you tell yourself the truth, the discipline to make that move will find you. Are you ready to build something better? Let’s talk about your next career move. #ConstructionCareers #Discipline #CareerGrowth #Leadership #ConstructionIndustry #BuildingCareersStructuringSuccess

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 "𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗲" In #construction, the most expensive words on a job site are: "I thought someone else had that." Miscommunication isn't just a headache; it’s a margin killer. When data lives in silos - trapped in fragmented emails, outdated spreadsheets, or unshared PDF - the result is inevitably rework, scheduling delays, and budget overruns. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘎𝘢𝘱 Most projects don't fail due to a lack of skill; they fail due to a lack of synchronized visibility. When the field team is working off Revision B while the office just approved Revision C, the ripple effect can cost thousands in a single afternoon. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙖𝙗𝙧 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 We bridge the gap between intent and execution. By centralizing project intelligence into a single, real-time source of truth, we ensure that: ▫️ Decisions are based on live data, not best guesses. ▫️ Accountability & Ownership happen in the workflow. ▫️ Margins are protected from preventable human error. Stop managing by fires. Start managing by foresight. #BuildingCareersStructuringSuccess fabr-global.com

Happy Friday of #WICWeek2026! Today’s focus, "𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵," is perhaps the most "detective-like" day of Women in Construction Week. While a Certificate of Insurance (COI) looks like a simple one-page summary, it is often the only thing standing between your project and a multi-million dollar liability gap. As we "𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗽" 𝗮𝗻𝗱 "𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴," here is your guide to verifying coverage, understanding endorsements, and spotting the red flags that most people miss. 1. 𝙑𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 — Ensure it is "Occurrence-based." If it’s "Claims-Made," you may have no coverage for accidents discovered after the policy expires. — Verify it meets your state's statutory requirements. Watch for "Owner/Officer Exclusions" that leave key people on-site uninsured. — You need CG 20 10 (ongoing work) and CG 20 37 (completed work). One without the other creates a massive gap. 2. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘖𝘐 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 "𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰"; 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘸. 𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳: — Ensures the subcontractor’s insurance pays first before your own policy is triggered. — Prevents their insurance carrier from suing you to recover funds they paid out on a claim. 3. 𝙍𝙚𝙙 𝙁𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙩 🚩 If the legal name on the contract doesn't match the "Insured" box exactly, the policy might not apply. 🚩 Check for policies expiring mid-project. A valid COI today is useless if it lapses next week. 🚩 Look for an AM Best rating of A- or better. Low-rated insurers are more likely to struggle with large payouts. 🚩 Any white-out, strike-throughs, or handwritten numbers are immediate signs of potential fraud. 𝗣𝗿𝗼-𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗜𝗖 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 When reviewing a COI today, remember: The "Description of Operations" box is not a legal guarantee. It is a memo field. If a subcontractor claims they have a certain coverage there, always ask for the actual Policy Endorsement page to prove it. "𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘺." In #construction, a five-minute check of the fine print can save five years of litigation. #WICweek2026 #BuildingCareersStructuringSuccess National Association of Women in Construction #BuildUpBuildStrong

Construction in 2026: It’s not just about what we build, but HOW we build it. 🏗️✨ It’s Day 3 of #WICWeek2026, and today’s theme is the industry outlook. Standing on a site in 2026 feels different than it did even two-three years ago. The "mix" has changed: ✅ BIM and Digital Twins aren't "futuristic" anymore - they are our daily blueprints. ✅ Sustainability has moved from a boardroom goal to a boots-on-the-ground requirement. ✅ As we face the "missing middle" workforce gap, the industry is finally realizing that diversity isn't a metric - it's an industry tool for resilience. To the women in the field: You aren't just part of the 2026 outlook; you're the ones defining it. How are you seeing the industry change this year? #ManyPathsOneGoal #WICWeek2026 #WomenInConstruction #ConstructionOutlook2026 #LevelUpBuildStrong National Association of Women in Construction #BuildingCareersStructuringSuccess
