The first trailer for Michael B. Jordan's remake of The Thomas Crown Affair has been released.

Jordan's remake of the classic heist movie has had its first trailer unveiled, revealing what to expect from the modern take on the 58-year-old thriller. The original 1968 movie follows the exploits of millionaire Thomas Crown, who begins orchestrating a series of heists, as investigator Vicki Anderson pursues him, leading to the duo falling in love. The pair were played by Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in the original movie. A second remake was released in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan as Crown and Rene Russo as insurance investigator Catherine Banning. Both versions earned positive reviews.

Now, Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair, revealing what to expect from Jordan's remake of the classic heist movie. Conflict is inevitable, however, as it seems a robbery from Kenneth Branagh's character will be an important point of tension in the story.

Jordan's remake of The Thomas Crown Affair was written by Drew Pearce and Jason Hall, from a story by Pearce. Alan R. Trustman, the original writer of The Thomas Crown Affair, is also credited for the story, with his original screenplay being an influence for how the remake was crafted. In addition to Jordan, Arjona, and Branagh, the movie also stars Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart in undisclosed roles. The remake, distributed in theaters by Amazon MGM Studios, will be released on March 5, 2027.

The Thomas Crown Affair is Jordan's next big movie following his Best Actor win for Sinners at the 2026 Academy Awards. It's also his second directorial venture, having previously directed Creed III in 2023. The movie appears to include faithful elements to the original while modernizing the setting, as well as showcasing extreme heists that the billionaire conducts in order to feel more alive.
