Tom Holland is getting ready for a big box office summer, as the star is already off to a great start.

The summer season is underway, with some of the biggest movies of all time getting ready to battle at the box office. In Holland's case, the British actor has not one, but two major releases that Hollywood will be paying close attention to next month.

Deadline reports that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially landed the U.S.'s biggest presales record for 2026 in five years. The last time this happened was for Holland's Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was his third solo film in the MCU. The Phase 6 installment is arriving in theaters only two weeks after Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, where the Marvel alum will play Telemachus, Odysseus's son.

Fandango has also confirmed that the upcoming comic book adventure has become the ticketing service's biggest first-day ticket pre-seller of the year. Not only did Spider-Man: Brand New Day surpass Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu and Project Hail Mary, but also The Odyssey as the largest traditional movie launch for 2026.

The highly anticipated sequel is also making history for Fandango as one of its top 10 all-time first-day ticket pre-sellers, becoming a massive success in the company's history for advance ticketing launches.

As Spider-Man: No Way Home became the Multiverse Saga's biggest box office hit, Brand New Day's presales are a promising sign for the 2026 installment. The larger question, however, is whether or not Holland's latest comic book entry will be able to match or surpass the numbers for the 2021 film.

It's crucial to remember that the last Peter Parker-centric film benefited from the fact that villains from Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Marvel film trilogies were showing up in the MCU story, while the two leading stars themselves were also heavily rumored to show up. As it was the worst-kept secret in Hollywood that Holland would share the screen with Maguire and Garfield, respectively, that also created a massive hype that led to the $1.9 billion result.

However, similar to the Far From Home ending, No Way Home left on a huge cliffhanger, as the world has now forgotten who Peter is, and no longer knows Spider-Man's secret identity. Even though it has been five years since Holland's last blockbuster was released, many audience members have been wanting to learn how the web-crawler's life is different now in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day story.

Even though the MCU timeline has dealt with a handful of box office disappointments in the last two years, the Spider-Man IP itself is also the biggest one Marvel has outside the Avengers. That alone opens the door for Brand New Day to potentially become another commercial success for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.

This is also the final MCU movie before Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be the final Phase 6 movies for Marvel Studios before they wrap up the Multiverse Saga for good. Given how many story details are being kept under wraps about the two ensembles, many are going to want to catch Spider-Man: Brand New Day as soon as they can to see if Peter's new story does any setup for the Earth's mightiest heroes.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in theaters on July 31.
