Prime Video's #1 worldwide hit series right now deserves a full 4-season binge-watch ahead of its upcoming spinoff set to arrive in just a few weeks. As one of Prime's most popular original series ever made, it's no surprise that this monolithic action thriller has remained at the very top of the streamer's worldwide viewership charts ever since it made its season 4 premiere on August 12. Now, with only three episodes left until its season finale, it's the perfect time to binge the entire series ahead of the debut of its first-ever expansion series.

Reacher remains Prime Video's #1 most-watched show, now more than halfway through its season 4 rollout. With the spinoff series Neagley premiering on September 16, the entire Reacher franchise is worth binge-watching on Prime Video ahead of its debut. Frances Neagley appeared in four season 1 episodes, all of season 2's 8 episodes, and two of season 3's episodes, but hasn't appeared in any of the five released episodes in season 4. Binge-watching the earlier Reacher seasons is the best way to prepare for the Neagley spinoff.

Neagley Drops The Same Day As Reacher Season 4's Finale – What To Expect

Even though Reacher season 4 is rapidly nearing its end, the Neagley spinoff series will premiere with all eight of its season 1 episodes on the exact same day as Reacher season 4's finale. This is incredibly exciting for Reacher fans, as Alan Ritchson's iconic character is also set to appear in the Neagley spinoff series. That said, it will switch protagonists from Ritchson's Reacher to Maria Sten's Frances Neagley, who was a member of the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit that Reacher oversaw and handpicked during his time in the military.

The Neagley spinoff series makes sense on many levels, both narratively and from a franchise perspective. Reacher is undoubtedly one of Prime Video's most prized streaming assets, churning out a new season based on one of Lee Child's celebrated novels nearly every year since its massive 2022 debut. Since Prime can only reasonably produce about one Reacher season per year – a pace that may potentially slow down with Ritchson's growing career and other filming commitments – Neagley can easily fill in any gaps while still giving viewers that signature Reacher tone.

What's more, Neagley has almost been a secondary protagonist throughout the first three seasons of Reacher, serving as the second-most recurring character in the franchise and one of Reacher's most trusted associates. From a story perspective, there is no better choice than Neagley for a Reacher spinoff show, and Maria Sten has completely embodied the role just as much as Ritchson has with his iconic performance of Jack Reacher. One interesting note, however, is that Neagley will tell a completely original story rather than adapt a book written by Child, although the bestselling author's first Neagley book, Zero Margin, will be published in March 2027 and should theoretically inform Neagley season 2.

Why Neagley Hasn't Appeared In Reacher Season 4 Through 5 Of 8 Episodes

Although Neagley has been a key supporting character throughout Reacher seasons 1–3, she has yet to appear in any of season 4's five released episodes. While some may find this odd with Neagley premiering in less than three weeks, it makes sense from a story perspective, as Neagley does not appear in Gone Tomorrow, the Lee Child book that season 4 adapted. Still, Neagley wasn't included in Persuader, the novel that inspired Reacher season 3, but still appeared in two episodes, indicating that if the writers wanted Neagley in Reacher season 4, they would not have prevented it just because it wouldn't follow the original text.

Since viewers will be getting more Neagley than ever before in the upcoming spinoff, the Reacher season 4 team likely found it unnecessary to insert her in Gone Tomorrow's conspiracy plot just for the sake of it. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Neagley appeared in some capacity towards the end of Reacher season 4, namely the finale episode, to provide a clean handoff to the new spinoff series. Either way, Reacher fans have enjoyed season 4's return to the titular protagonist's lone wolf approach as he dives deeper into the mysterious woman's death on the subway, setting viewers up for even more action and thrills when Neagley finally lands in September.
