He is gonna be there for the whole season. It was always a passing the torch story. Plus, you have not even seen how it plays out. Some people have such closed minds. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Let's see... We have a cosmic horror set in the middle of the depression in1935 rural Derry with an outside of time cosmic Lovecraftian-esc entity that telepathically manipulates an entire town to feed on the fear of their depressed children. I speculate that season two is gonna be just fine.

You should do what ever you want. Screw what the audience's accountability expectations of you are. If you venture off creatively, it shows you care about it enough to not get burned out. Fool is the one who constantly seeks gratification when the taste of clout becomes their God. Flanny would be one of the worst people to get burnt out when he has such a great track record as a storyteller. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with sitting in a genre for a while. As long as you are happy, learning, and getting better whilst doing it.
