Has it occurred to anyone that they haven't cast an actor to fill the role? While by the later books an actor is probably required, in the first book (and think about the book not how he was portrayed in the first movie) an on-screen presence may not be required at all.

When you only have two data points on a graph it's impossible to know what shape the graph is so you can't predict where the third data point belongs. I wish Dune 3 the best of luck, but suggesting it's automatically on course for $1 billion is far from the truth.
