See AllBaldur’s Gate 4 Has No Solution For One Critical Problem
BG4 will have little or nothing to do with bg3. It will be. A different studio, different design goals, different engine. We can only hope it doesn’t try to continue with any of the characters from bg3 because it will it be done well. Even if the eventual bg4 is good (which is not a given) it can only be made worse by linking and comparing it to bg3.
10 Baldur's Gate 3 Characters That Need To Be In BG4
Regretfully if any of these make it to bg4, they will be written by different people from a different developer with different ideas and priorities. And be more or less unrecognizable.
just ask any long time dragon ages fans what the think of Morrigan in veilgaurd.
After 5e, Old-School D&D Now Means The Opposite Of What It Used To
I find almost every argument made in this article is a fallacy.
5e was an attempt at returning to 3e minus the excessive bloat and complication. Where as pathfinder took 3e and added more bloat and complexity.
and feats being optional is great. The game functions just fine with or without. And the way classes are set up magic items are actually completely unnecessary. If you want to give them, give them. If you don’t, the characters will do just fine without. The modularity and simple learning curve were strengths in the design. And if anything, it’s the 2024 version that is chasing the past as it’s leaning move into the 3e bloat and 4e power.
D&D's 2025 Monster Manual Has A Unique Challenge After 2024 Orc Changes
The great thing about this change is that it has no effect at your table unless you want it to. I use warhammer orcs and goblins in every game and setting because those are THE orcs and gobs in my opinion and thus my world. Wotc changes don’t matter. And for new players it’s fine because they don’t have the same priorities as older gamers so this is a positive direction.
The Hexblade In Baldur’s Gate 3 Will Require Some Big Changes
If they port it more or less as is, they are still a strong martial class. They start with better armor and weapon choices at level 1, and can still have the cha melee- at level 1 instead of 3. Which would be amazing for multiclassers.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Could Never Be Origins, But That's Actually Good
This is one of those cases that if it had a different title it would be viewed differently.
whether or not the game is good or bad, it’s just not dragon age. It’s a pity corporations can’t help by try to use brand recognition even when it’s not the actual brand they want to sell.
BioWare does happy happy games now. They used to do morally grey cinematic RPGs. Before that they used to do AD&D games. Just like they will never make another infinity engine game, they will also never make another morally grey cinematic RPGs. They will now make happy happy beat em up dating sims.
RIP Dragon Age Origins, Awakenings, and Exodus.
