Yet another Mega Evolution has been revealed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The various new Mega Evolutions have been rolling out at a steady pace before Legends: Z-A launches on October 16. This one, though, may be turning "my friend Malamar" into "my nightmare Malamar."
Shown during The Official Pokémon Channel's demonstration, the Mega Evolution for Malamar has been revealed. The video was styled in a news report, ending with the sudden reveal of a less-friendly-looking Malamar.

Maybe The Not So Friendly Malamar
The reveal was kept in the dark until the very end of the video, providing only a brief look at Mega Malamar, similar to the build-up in a horror or thriller film. Mega Malamar floats off the ground, is covered in green and pink neon lights, and features a thinner body design. Its head has a teal design with black accents.
Throughout the news report-style video, there are several interviews with people about Malamar, until one is disrupted by Mega Malmar's ominous presence in the background. Unlike the happier design of Mega Dragonite, this one appears to be taking Malamar and making it more serious.

The Mega Evolution Reveals Keep Coming
Last month, Mega Hawlucha was revealed, featuring a masked-fighter design. Its reception was mostly positive, as many fans felt it was a natural evolution of the iconic fighter. Some fans even referred to it as "Rey Mysterio," referencing the popular WWE wrestler.
Though, in addition to the mixed reception of Mega Dragonite, other Megas have not been as well-received. Mega Victreebel has been mocked by some members of the Pokémon community for being too simple. Overall, the Mega Evolution reveals have been hit or miss with fans, and Mega Malamar will likely be the same. Either way, more Mega reveals are probably on the way as Pokémon Legends: Z-A inches closer to its release date.
