Diseases in Oblivion Remastered are debilitating conditions that the player character can contract through interactions with certain creatures, traps, or environments in Cyrodiil. Reflecting the harsh realities of Tamriel’s fantasy world, diseases apply negative effects to Attributes or Skills, hindering performance in combat, exploration, or social interactions until cured. Common sources include bites from diseased animals (e.g., rats, wolves), contact with undead (e.g., zombies), or exposure to traps in Ayleid ruins. Examples include Helljoint (reduces Agility and Speed) and Porphyric Hemophilia (a precursor to vampirism). Players can cure diseases using Cure Disease spells, potions, or by praying at altars in chapels or Wayshrines (with the Knights of the Nine DLC). Left untreated, diseases weaken the player, adding strategic depth to survival and reinforcing Oblivion's immersive role-playing experience.

You can cure a disease by using the Cure Disease Spell, or eat an ingredient or food item that has Cure Disease as its primary effect, or consume a Potion of Cure Disease.
