Type Negative

Infested is a status effect that causes an entity to sometimes spawn silverfish upon taking damage.

Effect

[edit | edit source]

Infested entities have a 10% chance to spawn 1–2 silverfish when hurt. The silverfish spawn at the center of the affected entity's bounding box, and fling out in the direction the entity is facing. The damage source does not necessarily need to reduce the health of the affected entity.[1] For example, a snow golem's snowball may trigger a silverfish spawn. The quantity and chance of silverfish spawning are unaffected by the potency level of the potion. Entities with the Infested effect emit gray, silverfish-shaped particles.
