For any MMORPG, cosmetics are a huge component. You always want to look good when playing with others, and although this is slightly more of a gacha action-RPG, there’s still a huge variety of options to choose from. It certainly helps that Where Winds Meet is an absolutely gorgeous game, and some of the traditional Chinese outfits have never looked better, but sometimes the monetization is a little too intrusive. Case in point the hair. While the developers have included an impressive number of different hairstyles and clothing to work with, changing your hair color to anything other than black is a bit of a challenge. It’s very apparent it’s missing from where it should be, but it’s not completely gone from the options.

Character Creation Woes

Where Winds Meet Hair Style Customizing

While you’re in the character creation process, you will be modifying a huge variety of facial features, and selecting different hairstyles that fit your character. While you’re able to equip different hairstyles, actually modifying bone structure and different facial features will require you to purchase something from the in-game shop.

Unfortunately, while in the character creation, you won’t be able to actually change the color of your hair. You probably are looking all around the different menus to find the option. You can change your skin tone or eye color, but not your hair for whatever reason. This is unfortunate because this option is locked behind a paywall.

How to Change Hair Color

The first thing you need to do to actually begin your journey of changing your hair color is go into the Appearance menu. You can get here by pressing the escape/options/menu button. Once here, navigate to the hair option on the left-hand side and select your desired style. From here, look at the bottom right where you’ll find a button assigned to “Dye.”

Once here, you will be given two options, Advanced Hair Dye and Basic Hair Dye. Both of these options require different items. For Basic Hair Dye, you will need to obtain 10 Inkshade Hairdye. This will run you roughly 50 Pearls (the premium currency) for a single Inkshade Hairdye (500 total) or drops from Draws.

For Advanced Hair Dye, which has far more vibrant colors, you will need the rarer Timeless Hairdye which is only available for trade at the Draw (gacha) Shop. This is a far taller order, and you’ll likely have to pay a decent chunk of money just to get change to anything other than the standard black.
