Knight Bernahl is an NPC Introduced in Elden Ring.

Not seen you before. Name's Bernahl. Tarnished, just like you. Let me ask you something. Are you here in the Lands Between to take up the fight? Does your faith in the guidance of grace hold firm, despite the collapse of the Golden Order?

Knight Bernahl Main Information

• Knight Bernahl's questline is related to the questline of Volcano Manor , Tanith , and Rya .
• You can kill Bernahl when you meet him at the Warmaster's Shack . He'll drop Bernahl's Bell Bearing , the Beast Champion Set and the Devourer's Scepter .
  • Of course, this is not recommended as you'll miss his questline.

• Bernahl can aid you during the battle against the Godskin Duo in Crumbling Farum Azula only if you follow his questline.

Knight Bernahl's Shop

Bernahl sells Ashes of War at the Warmaster's Shack in Limgrave. You can find him later on his questline inside the Volcano Manor.

How To Complete Knight Bernahl's Questline

1. Bernahl's questline starts by meeting him at the Warmaster's Shack in Limgrave. This place is east of the Stormhill Shack Site of Grace, which you'll find on your way up Stormveil Castle.

This location is marked on the map below:

Speak to him, exhaust all his dialogues, and answer "My faith holds firm" when he asks if your faith in the guidance is still firm even if the Golden Order has collapsed. Also, you can buy something from him if you wish. His questline won't advance anymore until you enter the Volcano Manor.

2. There are many ways to enter the Volcano Manor, but starting Rya's questline is the quickest and most straightforward of the bunch. First, meet Rya at Liurnia of the Lakes to start her questline. Rya is located near the telescope of Liurnia of the Lakes, inside a small pavilion. This is close to the Scenic Isle Site of Grace. Talk to her; she'll ask you to retrieve her necklace, Rya's Necklace.

2.1 The necklace can be found at the Boilprawn Shack, north of the Scenic Isle Site of Grace. Here, you'll meet Blackguard Big Boggart. Buy the Necklace from him, then give it to Rya. This is to receive the Volcano Manor Invitation from Rya's hands.

2.2 Now, you must reach the Grand Lift of Dectus and activate it with both halves of the Dectus Medallion. This is to reach the Altus Plateau. Rya will welcome you to this new zone, and if you talk to her, she'll offer to teleport you straight to the Volcano Manor.

3. Locate Tanith inside the Volcano Manor and speak with her. She'll ask you to join the Volcano Manor, which you must do. After that, you'll receive the Drawing-Room Key, letting you open one of the doors on the left side of the main hallway. You'll find Bernahl, now named Recusant Bernahl, inside this room. Be sure you talk with him and exhaust all his dialogues.

You'll also find a letter on the table inside this room: this is your first Assassination Request. You'll have to kill a target to complete it.

4. You'll find your target marked on the map, located in Limgrave, near the structure to the north. Head to the mark, where you'll find an invasion sign to invade Old Knight Istvan. Invade and kill him to continue.

5. After finishing your request, head back to the Volcano Manor and speak with Tanith. Your reward for completing this request is a second one, as well as the Magma Shot Spell. Go ahead and speak with Bernahl as well. This will make him reopen his shop.

6. Return to the Drawing Room, where you'll find a second Assassination Request. This time, you must kill Rileigh the Idle. He's located on the Altus Plateau, in the ravine/road that leads to The Shaded Castle. The exact location of Rileigh's invasion sign can be found on the map below:

7. Once you kill Rileigh, return to Tanith and speak with her about your success. She'll reward you with the Serpentbone Blade. Go and talk with Bernahl as well. He'll give you the Letter to Bernahl, which is another Assassination Request.

8. This request will take you to Leyndell, Royal Capital, so you must have explored this place beforehand. From the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace, move southeast towards a staircase to a zone below. Progress forward at the bottom of the staircase, and then go around the wall to your left as soon as possible. This is to drop to the zone below, which is full of dirt. Nearby, you'll find the entrance to a new building, so go inside. Here's where you can find the invasion sign to invade Vargram the Raging Wolf and Errant Sorcerer Wilhelm. Bernahl will aid you in this battle.

9. As you defeat both NPCs, head back to the Volcano Manor and speak with Bernahl. He'll reward you with the Gelmir's Fury spell.

10. Continue with the third and last Volcano Manor Assassination Request. This time, you'll have to kill Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood. He's on Mountaintops of the Giants, a zone you can only access by defeating Morgott, the Omen King at Leyndell, Royal Capital, and then receiving the Rold Medallion to use the Grand Lift of Rold. You can make it to the invasion sign by finding the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Site of Grace, then heading northwest towards the river. Follow the river stream until you reach a shack; that's where you'll invade and kill Juno Hoslow.

11. As you complete this request, head back to the Volcano Manor and speak with Tanith. She'll give you the Taker's Cameo Talisman and teleport you to Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy's battle arena. That's the next step: defeat Rykard.

12. After the intense battle against Rykard, return to the Volcano Manor and speak with Bernahl. He won't be too happy with what happened.

13. The next step is to continue exploring the Mountaintops of the Giants until you defeat the Fire Giant and get access to Crumbling Farum Azula. Once here, you can summon Bernahl to aid you against the Godskin Duo.

14. Progress further into the Crumbling Farum Azula until you find the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace, the nearest to Maliketh, the Black Blade. From there, head upstairs and then go north. You'll eventually find an entrance to a building. Go through it until you reach a balcony. There's a ladder to go to the zone below on this balcony; use it. Now, move towards the bridge nearby, where you'll get invaded by Recusant Bernahl.

Defeating Bernahl marks the end of his questline. The reward for doing so is the Blasphemous Claw, the Devourer's Scepter, and the Beast Champion Set.
