Split Sides Comedy Club is a comedy club featured in Grand Theft Auto IV and The Lost and Damned. The club is made inaccessible in The Ballad of Gay Tony and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

In Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, there is also an inaccessible Split Sides West in Los Santos.

Description

Split Sides

Located on Frankfort Avenue with a side entry on Jade Street in the Star Junction district of Algonquin, Liberty City, Split Sides is one of only two places (the other being Perestroika) where the player can watch live shows.

Outside, the club is marked by its bright pink façade and prominent 3D signage depicting Groucho glasses. Dot matrix displays announce the acts and there are posters advertising them. In The Ballad of Gay Tony, the entry walls are also plastered with radio station posters.

Inside, real life comedians perform comedy routines in front of live audiences. Their routines often make reference to Liberty City itself mentioning locations by name or commenting on in game elements (such as the lack of dogs in the streets).

The protagonist can visit the club by himself, with a friend, or on a date with one of his girlfriends to see performances. Two routines from Split Sides can also been seen on television while in one of the player's safehouses.

Unlike Perestroika, the trigger to begin a Split Sides show is located outside the club's Frankfort Avenue entrance, as opposed to Perestroika's trigger being located inside.

The player cannot explore the club's interior in the same fashion as Perestroika nor can Replay or Video Editor be used during the performances.

While the club features two entrances, one at Frankfort Avenue and one at Jade Street, the Frankfort Avenue entrance is the only one where the player can enter and exit the club. The club is inaccessible when the player has a wanted level or is on a mission. After watching a performance, there is a cooldownvague before they can re-enter to watch another.

In GTA IV, Split Sides is host to two acts, Ricky Gervais and Katt Williams, whose routines are repeated after a certain amount of visits. The Lost and Damned exclusively includes an additional act, Frankie Boyle.

Split Sides West Comedy Club is a comedy club located on Eclipse Boulevard in West Vinewood, Los Santos. Split Sides West Comedy Club is an inaccessible club. The club was accessible via exploiting a glitch^[1] and there is a fully detailed interior including a stage, tables and chairs, and a bar indicating it, like Bahama Mamas West, was cut from GTA V or may be intended to be used in future Grand Theft Auto Online updates.

In GTA Online, during the events of Los Santos Tuners, The Lost MC have a clubhouse in the rear of the building that the player can enter. However, it uses a generic MC Clubhouse interior, not the actual comedy club interior.
