Adaptability

Effect Attribute governing agility and all resistances (not defences). Also boosts poison bonus and poise.

Adaptability is a primary attribute in Dark Souls 2. Adaptability determines your character's status effect resistances, agility, poise, and poison bonus. Attributes can be increased by assigning points into them when Leveling Up.

Adaptability Information

Attribute governing defense and agility. Boosts poison resist and bleed resist.

  • Raises poison bonus
  • Raises poison, bleed, petrify, curse resistance
  • Raises Agility
  • Raises Poise
  • Slightly increases HP for each point: +2 HP (0-20), +1 HP (21-50)
  • Adaptability has no set soft cap, because all secondary attributes that it affects (such as Agility, resistances, poison bonus, etc) it shares with other primary attributes.
  • The Bandit begins with the lowest Adaptability at 3 and the Explorer starts with the highest Adaptability at 12.
  • The Mad Warrior Mask raises ADP by 2 while equipped.
  • The Peasant Attire, Long Gloves, and Trousers each raise ADP by 2 while equipped, but each lower INT by 1 as well.
  • The Handmaid's Ladle raises ADP by 2 while equipped, and the Work Hook lowers ADP by 3 while equipped.
  • The Simpleton's Ring from the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC raises ADP by 5 while equipped.
  • The Vessel Shield from the Crown of the Ivory King raises ADP by 1 in addition to other stats while equipped.
