They are specifically designed to be more streamlined than traditional sedans, which already boast some of the best handling dynamics of any vehicle. 1 Lexus LC

Kicking off our list of the best coupes is none other than the Lexus LC. Lexus discontinued the hybrid variant after the 2025 model year, and now we're especially saddened to hear about this gas variant losing its lease on life. Nevertheless, you can still buy an LC 500 for the 2026 model year. We feel it earns a BuzzScore of 8.8 out of 10 with some of the best styling in the industry, plenty of comfort and luxury features, and we adore its powertrain. Under the hood is a 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that makes 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. This coupe could sprint to 60 mph from a standstill in 4.4 seconds and reach 168 miles per hour.

"The LC 500 is smooth and comfortable around town and makes for a lovely daily driver. It's also a lovely way to arrive at a restaurant and is guaranteed to impress a date in at least one way. However, it's at its finest when the destination is an hour or two away and the navigation is set to avoid freeways. It can attack a road, and the suspension is supple but firm while the steering is on point..."

2 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

An American 2-door coupe with impressive performance is the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Even though there are crazier, more intense versions of the C8 Corvette, the Stingray is a classic with great handling and plenty of performance to back up its BuzzScore. Under the hood is a standard 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that makes 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Adding an optional exhaust system increases power to 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Stingray is capable of sprinting to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 194 mph.

It's the kind of setup that can make an average driver look heroic and an advanced driver looks like a superhero. 3 BMW M2

Our favorite model among BMW's few coupe cars is the M2. It's the smallest coupe the brand currently offers. The M2 is a well-balanced small sports car that sits at the top of the 2 Series lineup without the extra additions or variants like other M cars provide. This BMW starts at $69,000, which we feel is justified for its performance and luxury. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-6 that makes 473 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque; that much power sent to the rear wheels means it can sprint to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 177 mph with the M Driver's Package.

4 Porsche 911 GT3

For some people, there are no better coupes than the Porsche 911 GT3. The GT3 and its variants represent the best of the best in terms of Porsche's track performance. As one of the most sought-after models, dealerships often mark this ultimate sports car's price up by one hundred thousand dollars or more, which makes a difference when you consider it starts at $235,800 before destination and options. It's powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo flat-6 that makes 502 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque, which can launch the car to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 194 mph.

6 Porsche 911 Carrera

The GT3 variant is impressive, but not everybody needs a track-focused model with peak performance. Therefore, the standard Porsche 911 Carrera starts the lineup with class and comfort. It's not as powerful, but the Carrera's 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-6 still makes a respectable 388 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. That's enough power sent to the rear wheels to launch it to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds when equipped with the Sport Chrono package, and it hits a top speed of 183 mph. This model starts at $135,500 before destination and options.

7 BMW M4

While the M2 is our favorite model of all BMW's 2-door cars, the BMW M4 isn't far behind with a BuzzScore of 8.5 out of 10. Unlike the M2, there are three variants of the M4; the base model is anything but basic, since it starts at $82,200 and makes 473 horsepower from its 3.0-liter twin-turbo I6. The M4 Competition and Competition xDrive both use the same engine, but get tunes for 503 hp and 523 hp, respectively. In its most powerful guise, the M4 can sprint to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 mph when equipped with the M Driver's Package.

8 BMW 2 Series Coupe

The last BMW we'll talk about today is the 2 Series. It lacks the impressive speed and performance of the M2 or M4, but the 2 Series' variants cost less and still offer plenty of performance and respectable interior comfort features. Buyers can save money and have a more comfortable ride if they choose the base model 230i for $42,200. The top of the lineup (before reaching the M2) is the M240i, which starts at $55,600. The 230i gets a 2.0L turbo I4 that makes 255 hp and can launch to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds with RWD, and the M240i gets a 3.0L turbo I6 that makes 382 hp for a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds with AWD.

9 Aston Martin Vanquish Coupe

Aston Martin makes an appearance on our list of the best coupes with its "Super GT V12 Sports Car," the Vanquish. As AM's nomenclature would suggest, the Vanquish is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 that makes 824 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. This supercar is the most powerful on this list by far; it can sprint to 60 mph from a dig in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 214 miles per hour. Buyers must inquire for the true price, but this model starts at around the $430,000 mark.

10 Toyota GR86

In the polar opposite direction from the last entry, we have the Toyota GR86. Even though it gets a lower BuzzScore, we almost prefer this Toyota since it's actually driveable. People who buy this car will likely drive it like it's meant to be driven. That just makes it so much more fun. It's relatively affordable, too - the GR86 starts at $31,200 before destination. That puts it against rivals like the Subaru BRZ and Mazda Miata. Under the hood is a 2.4-liter naturally-aspirated flat-4 that makes 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. It's not the quickest, with a 0��60 mph time of 6.1 seconds, but it's plenty of fun to toss around corners.

Also, we've hardly driven a car that's easier to rev-match manually, with perfect pedal placement and crisp throttle response. Still, there are some similarities to be found among the top coupes, including:

• Style: A big deciding factor when buying the best coupe is esthetics. It’s good enough to simply go fast; you want to look good while doing it, too. A couple fewer doors and a more aerodynamic, sloping roof add to the athletic impression, but some sacrifices need to be made in the name of style. For many, it's a price they are willing to pay.
