About Anthony Capretto
Anthony Capretto is an automotive journalist at CarBuzz with a background in Media Communications and Film from the University of Pittsburgh. Since joining in 2022, he’s covered industry news, EV technology, and tuner culture, combining research and insight with a focus on overlooked and distinctive vehicles from every era.
Author Details
Anthony attended college at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Media Communications and Film. Reading every car magazine and watching every irreverent car YouTuber he could find, he slowly built his knowledge base up from a total amateur to a slightly smarter total amateur, but now people read the things he writes.
His interests lean toward the weird and ridiculous vehicles automakers have managed to put out over the last 100+ years, with a particular affinity toward 80s/90s vehicles.
He now spends his days honing his car knowledge and writing ability, photographing street-parked cars for his Instagram, and fixing up his (criminally underrated) first-generation Toyota RAV4.
Industry Focus
Anthony's focus is anywhere and everywhere.
No leak is too small, and no update to short. Government regulation, brand new tuner body kit, a deep dive into the inner workings of modern-day electric motors; if it's about something with four wheels you can drive, I'll research so you don't have to.
Favorite Car
As is the case with every automotive enthusiast, the answer is “it’s complicated.” As I currently drive the best generation of the Toyota Rav4, that’s one vehicle off of the bucket list, but there are so many others I hope to own at some point (but I’m not holding out hope)/
European? 1994 BMW 850 CSI Japanese? 80s Toyota MR2 American? The cleanest 2-door Tourqoise XJ Cherokee I can find. Then you have vehicles like the Volvo 850 Estate, Subaru Brat, Volkswagen Rabbit pickup, Honda City Turbo II, Pontiac G8, Dodge Omni GLH-S, Mitsubishi Pajero Evo, BMW Z1, Buick Roadmaster, and so on, and so on.
So many different vehicles, so little time.
