Bosses in Bloodborne are enemies with larger health bars that must be defeated to clear a stage. Each boss has a unique move set and requires a specific strategy. Once defeated, bosses will typically drop items exclusive to them. Some bosses are necessary for story progression, while others are optional. This page lists all known bosses, including 17 standard bosses, 21 Chalice Dungeon bosses, and 5 DLC bosses.
- Players summoned to assist with a boss will return to their own game once the boss is defeated. Bosses listed below are currently known and more will be added when data becomes available.
- Root Chalice Dungeons feature a fixed set of bosses.
- Using glitches and exploits, it's possible to finish the game and enter New Game+ by defeating only Rom and Mergo’s Wet Nurse.

Anonymousok lol. if we are talking setting cool , weapons are boring feels like lies of p, but ,lies of p is harder more modern , much more variety in weaponry , and 10 x better bosses have anyone else played other soulsborne games this doesnt come close boses are so easy and yes go behind them hit wait for them to attack repeat, all are gimicky and fps is a thing , game would be so easy if it was 60 fps , and i bet on the ps5 port they knew it , all game has going for it is setting & creative touch by miyazaki also i think level design is much worse than ds1 although its still good, i like this game but its worse than ds1 just being honest , ds1 = 8/10 bloodborne =7 lies of p =9 as a soulslike. 8 isnt bad

AnonymousMichael Zaki woke up one day while working on Bloodborne and thought. "I love this game too much. How can I make sure I abandon it in the future?" Then proceeded to evacuate his ailing bowels inside of the game. Over months, it continued to fester and ferment, and eventually birthed three-quarters of this game's bosses.
Well done Mike. Great idea

AnonymousBloodborne is the best from software game when it comes to setting - no doubt. However the bosses are indeed gimmicky, thankfully dlc consists a set of awesome bosses and that is why every Bloodborne run gotta cover playing the dlc as well

AnonymousThis game's bosses were mostly a whole load of nothing saved by good creature design.
People say the turning point is Rom, I'd argue it plateaus even sooner! Game hits you with 2 of the best right off the bat (Cleric Beast and Father G are honestly great) but then we get crap like Blood-Starved Beast (COULD be fun if it werent for the unnecessarily bullshit slow poisoning), The Witches of Hemwick (Hide-And-Seek that's trivialized with 0 insight), Shadows or Yharnam (More ganks! Whee!) leading up to The One Reborn (AWFUL, AWFUL gimmick boss). Some of the optional ones were pretty bad, too. Amygdala feels straight-up unfinished, if it weren't for the admittedly fantastic design of Ebrietas, everyone would be totally honest about her absolutely DOG**** hitboxes, (Don't even get me started on that charge attack). Darkbeast Paarl is an absolute chump if you just keep breaking the **** out of his legs, Oh, and Micolash. Fucking Micolash. On my second character, I didn't even set out to cheese him, it just naturally happened. The fact that it's been how long and this was never patched out proves that FromSoftware straight up don't play their own games. Also, Mergo's Wet Nurse is, again, amazingly designed but she feels like a roomba that wildly flails blades and that clone-jutsu bullshit goes on WAAAAY to long.
Cleric Beast, Father Gascoigne, Vicar Amelia, Martyr Logarius, Gehrman, Ludwig, Lady Maria, and MAYBE Orphan of Kos—these are all fine. Great, even. If this game had an entire boss roster of THIS QUALITY, then the masterpiece status this game has would be justified and we probably would have gotten a port years ago.
I'm not even going to dignify the Chalice Dungeon bosses with a mention. In fact, that whole system was bloated and artificially difficult. A nice idea, but repetitive and FRUSTRATINGLY grindy.
The NPC hunters were usually way more challenging and engaging.
Ok after Two playthroughs and currently on my fist I got so say this about the bosses. Most are pretty good and some are amazing.
But I don't know if it's just a me thing but I found most of the bosses easy on my first playthrough. Maybe I have finally gotten good after Playing these games for years or what but there were only like 3 bosses that had my dying over 20 times, that being Ebrietas, Logarius and Ludwig. Not even orphan I killed him in like 4 tries. I always thought that these people who say that they beated the hardest bosses in a few tries in every other souls game were just trying to show off, but after beating orphan I realized that maybe they are telling the truth. Everyones experience will be different and I just found orphan easier than most I was like level 120 with a +10 moonlight with tier 6 nourishing gems and 50 arcane so maybe my build was just really good against him but I don't know.
I really didn't dislike any bosses, maybe micolash but he's at least unique. On my second playthrough I didn't like fighting Laurence but that was more a technical issue from my part. You see if I looked in the direction towards the hunters nightmare during the fight, the FPS dropped to half and it was kinda nauseating when the fps would go from 60 and 30 whenever the camera faced the other side of the arena. But again it was more of a issue (a skill issue for my pc) on my part. But I'll try refighting him on my new playthrough.
But again difficulty of the bosses doesn't mean to that they aren't fun to fight. The gameplay and the weapons makes them so fun to fight. It feels like I'm styling on them. I love it.
Also Ludwig's theme is so good I usually let the boss play out without attacking so I just can listen to it. God it's so good.
So in conclusion pretty good boss roster. Even the not as good bosses are fun just for the gameplay itself. I was pretty hard on the game on my first playthrough but that was just because my expectations were ridiculously high, like I expected it to change my worldview. But after a second playthrough and currently on my third, I do get it. I understand why people think this is the best game. While I don't think it's the best game, it's in my top 15 maybe even top 10.
AnonymousThe bosses in this game feel like a dance competition. Except its a rave and its more about who can flail the hardest than dance the hardest, and there's screaming involved.

AnonymousHonestly dont think this game had a bad bossfight outside of the chalice dungeons. Sure, some of the bosses arent great (rom, micolash, witches) but i never actively disliked fighting them

Anonymous
Anonymouscreated the most fun boss fight mechanics of the seriries only to make us fight demon souls tier gimmick bosses for everything after amelia. thank you miyazaki

Anonymous
AnonymousBB has probably the most middle of the road bosses in the series, but man as a whole? This game just fucking rocks dude.

AnonymousTragically, I first tried Mergo so I think that boss is weird as I haven't learned the move-set much to really appreciate it. Micolash, Rom, and Witch are lame ass bosses that kinda bring the mood down and the fact you could face witch -> Rom -> then One reborn sounds like torture (not that One reborn is bad, it's just an okay/mid fight with le epic design). Moon presence was a bit disappointing because of how epic Gehrman was. Weirdly though, Amygdala was my favourite because it forced me to face it head on.

AnonymousBloodborne boss roster is the most hated for no reason, I actually hate how it's people act like it's an "objective" fact that "most of the bosses suck" I can only name 5 that I actively dislike. The rest are fun or are downright masterpieces

AnonymousI don't understand people who like bloodborne. Tried it for the first time (played all the other souls games other than demon souls), and I counted what I like and didn't like. 7/15 bosses are fun (this is not including dlc I didn't play that because I had such a bad experience with the main game). When you get to the locations this goes down even further: only yarnham and cathedral is fun, I guess we could also include the hunter's dream but that's not really a map but it's got good atmosphere.
I think people forget absolute dogshit bosses like one reborn, rom, witches, amygdala, micolash, and for locations pretty much every location is poison this frenzy that, let's make blighttown into a whole game.
Gameplay is godtier, but it's not enough to carry the rest of the game. It's bad, sorry. Feel free to prove me wrong but use actual evidence from the game
AnonymousBloodborne's boss roster sit in the middle of the series for me. While its standout bosses (Gehrman, Ludwig, Maria, Orphan) are amongst the best in the series, they get dragged down by a bunch of mediocre bosses. Still, nothing as trash as Dragon God or Bed of Chaos.

AnonymousPeak game but even the worst DS2 boss is better than any of these dogs*t bosses. Definitely the worst aspect of the game.

Anonymous
AnonymousI'm at this point genuinely close to being certain that the people in the comments are just Sony bots that are built to brain wash FromSoftware "fans" into thinking this game is bade compared to all the other Soul-like games. This game has impeccable art direction, bosses, gameplay, movement, on and on and on. I seriously don't understand why people are saying "most of the bosses are not memorable"
Ebrietas
Vicar Amelia
Gascgoine
Ludwig
Orphan
Moon Beast
Amygdala
Wet Nurse
Gehrman
on and on and on
All these bosses are hands down the most unforgettable bosses I've ever fought against and I can give a detailed summary on why about each. It is sad I'm seeing this comment section devolve into this hate thread when this game is EVEN MIYAZAKIS FAVORITE. So called "Fromsoft" fans and the only games they've played where Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. Shameful
AnonymousYo idk if its like just me but like the big hole in moon presence's faace is getting me all excited I cant focus while trying to kill her for the dope ending I gotta like rub it out like every time help me

AnonymousNotice how all these brainless hate comments only start appearing after Elden Ring releases. Amazing game, but god does it have the worst fans

AnonymousI understand that some people like this game, since it's easy and appeals to more casual players, but the bosses are pretty forgettable aside from Orphan and Ludwig. It shouldn't even be compared to Fromsoft's other games, which are vastly superior.

Anonymous
AnonymousDoesn't have quite as good bosses as the best of dark souls 1 2 and 3, but still very very solid bosses with most of them being fun and challenging enough. I may be biased though, I absolutely love dark souls 1 above almost any other game.

Anonymous
It would be cool if they had a Doll boss(similar to the one that levels up your stats) At the abandoned workshop.

Anonymousdih to yo crack name one good boss from basegame bloodborne

Anonymous
AnonymousI absolutely love design of ebrietas, mergo's wet nurse, moon presence and loved the music for gehrman, ludwig, living failures and my favorite character is micolash

I love bloodborne but the bosses aren't as hard as I thought they would be

AnonymousW bosses, Lots of Angry and Sad memories. Broken Controllers, tears, and happy moments too.

AnonymousIf I was to change anything about Bloodborne, it would be removing or heavily reworking both Micolash and Rom, and this is coming from someone that can confidently say that could suck this game off non-stop for days and talk endlessly about how the gameplay perfectly complements the great majority of these fights, the transforming weapons, the art direction or the sound design to no end, but damn I really do hate those two fights, genuinely, what the fuvk were they thinking?

Anonymous
AnonymousLogarius, Mergo's Nurse, and Ebrietas are some of my favorites. Maybe you're just too nostalgic for Witch of Hemwick?

AnonymousGonna throw my hat into the ring and say there is a drop in boss quality at and after Rom.
Dont get me wrong there are still gems like Logarius and Gehrman but this game kind of kicked off the From trend of bosses being these big hulking things for you to slash at their legs for five minutes
AnonymousIt honestly feels so nice to play a game where the Bosses complement the mechanics, for once.

Anonymous
AnonymousBloosborne is the beast soul after sekiro or demon soul
Is the beast because is a great gameplay great boss
Anonymous
AnonymousMy personal ranking
1. Oprhan of Kos 100% hard but fun fight, it gets pretty hectic too which just adds to the fight
2. Lady Maria, awesome fight, a bit too ez of you use a gun but still amazing
3. Darkbeast Paarl, this one is here purely because of my 1st run, I died a lot but other than that I really do like this boss actually
4. Ludwig, 1st phase is hell but 2nd phase is fun AF to fight
5. Gehrman, same with lady maria pretty ez with a gun but still such a good fight
Honourable mention
-Abhorrent beast (the beggar)
Ik hes not a boss but I stand by the fact that this guy is harder than any other enemy minus
only by Laurence and Orphan 2nd phase
AnonymousGenerally think the boss roster is pretty good, people hate on it for being easier than most games or that the designs aren't like the other either, but that's the horrific beauty of Bloodborne. It's a Lovecraftian horror for that soul reason, the outer story being dark and bloodstained adds to that.
I enjoyed Amygdala in the base game and most of the dlc bosses.
Anonymoushonestly this game is saved by the fact that it's easy. the bosses are just so mid that they would be an unfun chore if they were actually difficult

AnonymousVery disappointed with this boss roster, most are just generic humans or tall scrawny fleshy beasts with either boring or messy movesets. A few good exceptions in the base game, and 2 great ones in the DLC.
And don't come at me saying it's bc this game's old. DS1 and 2 had many more memorable or at least fun bosses.
AnonymousLook, I liked bloodborne, but I actually despise most the bosses from the first half of the game, mainly rom, shadows of yharnam, and amelia

Anonymousim at the dlc (4 more bosses to go) and my favorite is martyr logarious

Anonymousjust checking if i have killed all bosses, my favourite is orphan of kos he is one of the best bosses i have ever fought

Anonymous
Anonymousdisappointd cuz i won't get to fight orphan of kos since he's dlc

Anonymousthe base game has the least memorable bosses of all the modern from games imo

Anonymous
AnonymousI think this comment section is the living testament that not one person that Elden Ring is better than Bloodborne actually played either of the two games. Yikes.

AnonymousHere researching the bosses because I'm falling for someone who loves the game and the comments are filled with people trashing the game. Yikes.

Anonymoushow dare this 2014 game not have as good bosses as game they made over half a decade later !

Anonymous
Anonymous"wah wah wah"
All I see is a bunch of whiny kids crying about a game.
Good work.
Anonymousso why did they just make a bunch of mid for the base game then suddenly just lock in with the dlc? like its the same people who made the dlc, what happened?

AnonymousI'm on my first playthrough (2nd souls game after elden ring) and wow the bosses are insanely easy. it's hard to appreciate any of them when they all die in 1-2 tries and I don't even have to learn their movesets. definitely the weakest part of this game

Anonymouslmao this comment section is nuts.
how did fromsoft spawn the most elitist goober fanbase ever simply by making good, challenging games?
AnonymousOne Reborn is fought in Yahar’ Gul Advent Plaza not Nightmare Frontier as stated on it’s gallery pic

Anonymous
AnonymousDamn, why does it feel like I started the whole BB bosses are hot garbage. All I said that most of base game bosses (including chalice dungeons) are pretty mid. Not that the bosses are pure filthy trash.

AnonymousМені подобається bloodborne тим що бої з босами в них досить динамічні навідмінну від 1 та 2 dark souls . Але вибачте мене оцей бос павук Том це блять щось дещо ... він гірший навіть ,за аналогічного в dark souls 2

Anonymous
AnonymousMan I sure do pressing the same button to avoid every attack in the game. So exciting, definitely doesn't get samey or repetitive after a while

AnonymousWhy is there so many comments hating on these bosses?
The only two bosses I understand people hate are Rom & Micolash.
I rly love these game's bosses! Gehrman, Gas-coin, Amelia, Logarius, BSB, Paarl & all of the dlc bosses are truly masterpieces! Especially Gehrman, he's my personal fav boss.
AnonymousWhy are so many bosses resistant to bleed/poison are you sure those humans have blood. And why are so many lanky Skinner than a floor lamp enemies not weak to blunt

AnonymousI hate the Micolash boss fight with a burning passion. The endless stamina, endless running, endless Call of Beyond spamming, etc. The dialogue makes up for it though, it's amazing.

Anonymous
AnonymousAmelia, Gehrman, Logarius, Gasoline, Paarl, and BSB
those are the good bosses in base game, fact
AnonymousI'm sick of this cringe Bloodborne elitists. Bloodborne was never the best Souls game and it never will be. You all probably like it because it is the only Souls game you could beat since the bosses are so freaking easy and trash.

Anonymousrom ,witch of hemwick, shadows and micolash are generally the most hated "garbage/annoying" Bb bosses but the rest are pretty cool(personally i find shadows and micolash cool because it was refreshing) and some bosses might be easy but this does not mean = garbage. thats 4 of 17 boss and that would mean like 75 percent of bloodborne basegame bosses are good and if u do a comparison with other soulsgame then this is a pretty good quote.NOW how can we answer to the question that the bloodborne bosses are bad???? the answer is they are not BAD and if u think otherwise then ur are delusional.

AnonymousPeople saying the base game has almost no good bosses when Gehrman Gascoigne Logarius and Ebrietas exist

AnonymousThe only good base game bosses are Father Gascoigne and Gehrman and also maybe Shadows of Yharnam. Everything else is pretty much garbage.

AnonymousThere are few good bosses . Everything else is pure trash .

Anonymousim pretty sure the reason why i think this is the GOAT of fromsoftware games is because i solod orphan of kos in my second try

AnonymousBe real people. Is Bloodborne a good game? Yes it is. It has the best setting in soulsborne genre from From Software. Possibly it has the best visuals and art design too. But bosses? 90% of them are trash. Do not lie to yourselves

AnonymousWould've been cool if one area had a Nemesis-like enemy that wields the Gatling Gun in one hand and the Cannon in the other.
He stalks and attacks the Hunter throughout the area and is unkillable until you fight him as a boss.
Anonymous
Such an overrated game, even ds2 has better bosses. Gehrman is the only good boss from the base game....

Anonymous
AnonymousI love bloodborne, but people keep saying bloodborne has the best bosses in the soulborne series which is wrong I think. I mean base game the only good fights are father gasoline and Mr. I can change my clothes in one second. Like all the other bosses are kinda mid to bad. DLC is good as aside from living failures, I injoyed All the DLC bosses

Anonymous
Anonymous
Anonymous
Just look at bloodborne's boss names without looking at the picture. You'll imagine some fine-looking gentlemen. Then look at the pictures and ruin your imagination with beasts.
Ironic they are
Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousWho do you think would taste better, Moon Presence or Ebrietas?

Anonymous
Anonymous
Anonymous
Anonymousin my opinion gehrman is aharder boss than lady maria.
i had a much harder time with gehrman, but this is just my opinion...
Anonymous
AnonymousBosses Section not working. Enemies, Chalice Dungeon Bosses and DLC tabs work but nothing comes up when clicking on Bosses. :(

Anonymousmy bloodborne character got corrupted so i’m just staring at this till i have the balls to actually restart

AnonymousThe location for Vicar Amelia isn't the chathedral ward, it is the grand cathedral
