Netflix Gives New Official Update on GTA 6: An Extended Look Amid Ongoing Leaks

Netflix gives a minor update on the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look, during a time of great intrigue for the franchise. Right now, a group or individual named Cyberleek is leaking new gameplay clips of GTA 6 on the daily, with the latest (as of this writing) being Jason Duval's time in a nudist town. What's worse is the leaker appears to be escalating, just days before the Netflix extended look at the open-world crime-action game, as it is asking followers if they want GTA 6 story leaks of Lucia's prologue.

Thus far, Cyberleek has avoided major story spoilers and simply focused on gameplay shenanigans, but story spoilers are on a whole other level for fans. It potentially means that GTA 6 story spoilers hit the internet roughly three months before release (and that's assuming this whole Cyberleek thing isn't some kind of PR marketing stunt, which seems less likely by the day). Right now, Take-Two is issuing subpoenas and attempting to find the source of the leak, while Rockstar Games is consoling developers in an understandably trying time. Netflix, meanwhile, remains focused on the Extended Look.

Next Stop: Vice City

Previously announced on August 6, Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, and Netflix are partnering up for GTA 6: An Extended Look's worldwide debut. It'll air on Netflix first—August 27 at 12 pm PT/3 pm ET—before hitting YouTube later that night at 9 pm ET. Rumors suggest that there could be three episodes for GTA 6: An Extended Look, with it actually being a mini-series, but that is currently unknown. Ahead of then, but amid the ongoing leaks, Netflix has refreshed its social media profiles with a new, minor, and yet encouraging update: "Next Stop: Vice City."

Some fans were curious if Rockstar would bring up the Extended Look because of the leaks or if there was potential for Netflix to delay the GTA 6: An Extended Look as a result, but reportedly that's never been on the table. As such, it's no surprise that Netflix is largely quiet on the situation, leaving the legal work to Rockstar and Take-Two, as the company itself promotes the upcoming debut. It stands to reason that this is one of the biggest worldwide debuts in the world, as it is believed to be the first official gameplay look at GTA 6. Among all the leaks, it would be nice to get something real and official.

Unfortunately, there's potential for the next few days to be dramatic. It's not that Cyberleek would really lose fans, but some interest in its small-fry gameplay leaks will no doubt die off once Rockstar and Take-Two show Grand Theft Auto 6's Vice City in action. Not to mention, it'll be nice to see more of GTA 6 co-protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. And so the question about Lucia spoilers could just be the beginning if the companies do not intervene before (and this is truly not a marketing stunt).

GTA 6 releases on November 19, and while it's been a long road to get there, and some bumps are ahead, there's no denying that it only gets closer with each passing day.
