Pantheon 2.0 in Destiny 2 brings back an elite challenge against Raid bosses, and for Morgeth Surpassing, you're going to need to beat the Warpriest, Consecrated Mind, and Morgeth, three challengers with unique mechanics that can make their encounters impossible if you don't know what to do.
Since Warpriest, Concsecrated Mind, and Morgeth all have their own mechanics, we'll teach you how to beat them in this guide, which goes over their mechanics so you can reach DPS and avoid a team wipe to allow you and your Fireteam to come out as the victors!
How to Beat Warpriest in Destiny 2

The teams need to be split into threes. Three players are associated with the left, and three players are associated with the right. For each trio, player #1 gets the Brand of the Weaver and kills enemies on the Totem to get stacks of Deathsinger's Power, while player #2 kills a Wizard in the main room to spawn a Taken Knight to get the Brand Claimer.
Player #2 takes the Brand Claimer to player #1 and interacts with them to "Steal Brand", which allows player #1 to deposit Deathsinger's Power at the plates in the boss room. Meanwhile, player #3 is working on getting the next Brand Claimer to tag player #2 out, followed by player #1 getting the Brand Claimer to tag player #3 out, and repeat.
If this is confusing, then try to follow the step-by-step process below:
- Player #1 gets the Brand of the Weaver buff and stands on the Totem, killing as many ads as possible for Deathsinger's Power.
- Player #2 goes to the front room to kill a Wizard, Taken Knight, and get the Brand Claimer to "Steal Brand" from Player #1 just before the Brand of the Weaver timer expires.
- Player #1 leaves the Totem and stands on the boss room plates to deposit the Deathsinger's Power until they have no more.
- Player #2 now has the Brand of the Weaver and must kill ads, while Player #3 rotates to get the Brand Claimer and "Steal Brand" from Player #2.
- Player #1 gets the Brand Claimer and rotates out Player #3.
The goal is for each player to kill as many ads as possible while they have the Brand of the Weaver so they can build stacks of Deathsinger's Power. With these stacks, deposit them into any of the three plates.
After enough Deathsinger's Power has been deposited, the plate that's currently being deposited on will turn red. Step off the plate, and when you step back onto the red plate, you will get Brand of the Initiate to begin DPS against the Warpriest for anyone standing in the Brand aura.
The two players with the most Deathsinger's Power left will each need to leave DPS and locate a Taken Knight for the Brand of the Unraveler. With this buff, you can "Steal Brand" on the player with the Brand of the Initiate. This will extend DPS by however many Deathsinger's Power you have.
Once the Brand of the Initiate runs out, you will need all 6 players to stand behind one of three Hive pillars to prevent a wipe. You will all want to stand behind the same pillar, as the pillar used will cause it to disappear. You can then repeat the steps above to enter a second and third DPS phase.
How to Beat Consecrated Mind, Sol Inherent in Destiny 2

Each player needs to head to one of 5 zones where there are Relays, while one player will act as a Mote-collecting roamer to help the other players who need it. The other players in zones can help each other, but mainly when no enemies are spawning, which occurs when you see the "defense subsides" text.
The Consecrated Mind will also be in the boss room and will spit Voltaic Overflow on the map. You need to stand inside the spit and call out which of the boss's eyes glows red, as another player needs to help shoot these eyes to avoid a wipe. The player with the Voltaic Overflow debuff can't repeat this until the debuff expires!
Each player in a zone will need to get the Enlightened buff to kill enemies, so they don't sacrifice themselves to the Relay (which causes a wipe). You can get this buff by killing Angelic Hydras and shooting the cube that spawns to connect two players and the Relay with a tether.
If you're a zone player who needs the Enlightened buff, call out to your team to see if anyone's free. For instance, if Relay #1 needs Enlightened, shoot the Vex cube above to have a tether connect you to the cube, then have another player stand between you and the Relay to make a connection to get Enlightened.
Meanwhile, the roamer is running around and looking for Malignant Motebearer Hobgoblins, which, when killed, drop Motes that you can pick up to deposit into the Relays. Once enough Motes have been deposited, the text "The Consecrated Mind is drawn to the overloaded relay" will appear, and all players need to head to the middle to begin DPS.
All players need to destroy the Consecrated Mind's red eyes, and once that's done, the boss will run away, and you need to follow it and perform DPS, so long-range weapons like Snipers, Linears, and Rocket Launchers are great.
You can now loop the steps above to repeat DPS phases. This is a juggling match of mechanics, so it's not going to be easy. Below, you'll find brief step-by-step instructions to make it somewhat simpler.
The Roamer / Runner
- Use the portals in the middle of the room to rotate to each Relay to help them get Enlightened, and to search for Motes and Mote Hobgoblins.
- Deposit Motes into Relays and repeat until you can begin DPS against the Consecrated Mind.
The Relay Guardians
- Get Enlightened and defend your Relay from shielded Vex that will try to sacrifice themselves to the Relay.
- When the text "Undergrowth Defenses Subsided" appears, your area will temporarily be safe from enemies, so you can help other Relay members.
- Use comms to let the roamer know if there are Motes, and use comms to let the team know if the Consecrated Mind has dropped the Voltaic Overflow.
How to Beat Morgeth, the Spirekeeper in Destiny 2
For Morgeth, you'll want two teams of three, with three Guardians on the left and three Guardians on the right. The objective here is to pick up two Taken Strength buffs on the ground (if you pick up more than two, you die).
A Taken Captain will spawn, and when killed, he will drop the Eye of Riven. With the Eye of Riven, you need to shoot the Acolyte Eyes behind Morgeth. Now, a player who is trapped by Morgeth can be freed with the Eye of Riven's grenade ability.
This will teleport the two players (one who was trapped and one who freed them) to Riven's realm, where they can see unique symbols to pick up, but the two correct ones are whatever symbols are NOT in the room with Morgeth in the normal realm:
- In the normal realm with Morgeth, the team needs to read out the symbols behind Morgeth.
- In Riven's realm, the two players need to identify the symbols NOT in the normal realm and interact with them.
Remember, the player who freed the trapped player will now have that player's Taken Strength, so the player who has no Taken Strength needs to be directed to what symbols to pick up to regain Taken Strength!
Once those two players have picked up the correct symbols, they just need to survive in Riven's realm until Morgeth traps another player. Shoot the Acolyte Eyes again, free the trapped player with an Eye of Riven, to be teleported into Riven's realm, and have the last two players say the symbols behind Morgeth so you know what to pick up.
Lastly, the two players remaining with Morgeth will need to be trapped and use the Eye of Riven to teleport into Riven's realm, and now that all six players are in Riven's realm, Morgeth will teleport here too. You can begin DPS by having the player who doesn't have x2 Taken Strength pick up the final Taken Strength.
There will be an "Amassed Strength" debuff at the top of the screen, and when this gets to 90%, you need to use the Eye of Riven's super ability on Morgeth. If it reaches 100%, it will wipe the team, but this will end the damage phase, so leave it to the last moment.
After repeating the damage phase cycles, Morgeth's health will reach its final stand. There's a portal that opens in Riven's realm and takes you into the Taken realm. You need to sprint through the puzzle room to reach Morgeth, and each player needs to grab 2 Taken Strength around the final stand boss room.
Once you have all the Taken Strengths, Morgeth can be damaged, so it's time to put everything you have into Morgeth because his Amassed Strength will continue to build, and if you're too slow, he will wipe your team.
