  • Dragon Quest XI and Final Fantasy X are standout titles with robust post-credit gameplay.
  • Titles like Monster Hunter Wilds and Xenoblade Chronicles X unlock new missions, bosses, and equipment after the main story.

Some players prefer to see a game to its conclusion and not spend a single minute playing it after the credits roll. However, this doesn't apply to everyone. Other players seek out games with lengthy endgames that they can spend numerous hours in, or may simply enjoy a game's world so much that they don't want to put it down.

This usually applies to RPGs. Some of the best games in this genre last for a long time and keep players thoroughly entertained along the way. Spending hundreds of hours in these games just feels like the start, with players enjoying a ton of content that keeps them busy even after the main story is over.

Dragon Quest 11 is one of the best JRPGs players can spend a ton of time on. Helping the Luminary and his allies save the world in a classic JRPG adventure makes for a great time. The best part about Dragon Quest 11 is how there's way more to do in the game after the credits roll. The epilogue itself can take upwards of 50 hours for players who want to explore all the new content this game has to offer, showing why fans can't get enough of this generational JRPG.

Final Fantasy 10 is one of the best games in the series, featuring tactical combat where players get stronger as they use Spheres to gain stat boosts. For the most part, players won't need to exhaust all their abilities and explore another path on the Sphere Grid as long as they're following the main story.

The same doesn't apply if players want to take out the Dark Aeons and Penance, not to mention the hardest challenges in the Monster Coliseum. Players will have to complete all the challenges to unlock the most powerful forms of everyone's ultimate weapons. They'll also have to make substantial progress in the Sphere Grid if they wish to take on these obscenely challenging endgame bosses.

Just like the original game, these remakes of the Gen 2 Pokemon are overflowing with content. After conquering the Johto region, fans can head to Kanto and take on the eight gym leaders there, too. All of this culminates in an epic fight with Red, the protagonist of the original Pokemon games. What's even more mind-boggling is that there's still more stuff to do in the game beyond this, such as catching the Legendaries of each version.

Monster Hunter Wilds is one of the best entries in the series, formalizing the open-world structure that previous games had experimented with. It also features a main story that's quite compelling for the first three chapters. When the credits roll, players will realize that they've just scratched the surface of what is possible in this title. More chapters, harder monsters, and better gear are there for hunters to spend a ton of hours on.

When Shadow of War originally came out, the endgame featured a ridiculous grind. It was unbalanced on purpose to goad players into buying microtransactions, which were eventually phased out of the game.

However, the endgame siege and defense loop is still quite hard. Invading forces are so strong that some players are forced into losing these wars and letting their fortress be taken over. It's a lengthy but fun grind for players who can't get enough of the game's combat loop as they invade Mordor.
