Pick Up the Weapon
After surviving the chase sequence through a house, players will arrive in an open area with a large pile of rubble in the middle. This is the arena where you'll need to fight and defeat the Flamethrower Soldier boss in REANIMAL: The Prisoner. The first thing one player needs to do is pick up the "Luger" pistol from the ground (I've marked it on the map).
Strategy to Beat Flamethrower Soldier Boss
Here's a quick breakdown of the strategy to beat the 'Flamethrower Soldier' boss.
- One player needs to hide behind the boxes on one side, while the other one should be on the other.
- The player without the pistol must call out by pressing the "C" key on the keyboard, or "LB/L1" on a controller. This will distract the boss in their direction.
- When the boss turns to face the player calling out, the player with the pistol must shoot the boss. The bullet will hit the boss' gas tank, rupturing it.
- Make sure to change positions if the boss throws grenades on the ground, and repeat the strategy by shooting the soldier's gas tank four to five times.
- In the final stage, the player who's kiting the boss must go north, around the large fire pile. This will prompt the boss to turn around to follow said player, exposing the gas tank fully. At this point, the player with the weapon must take the final shot and explode the gas tank, defeating the boss.
Once the gas tank explodes, the Flamethrower Soldier in REANIMAL: The Prisoner will be defeated. Now you're free to progress further into the DLC's story.
Where to Go After the Flamethrower Soldier Boss Fight in REANIMAL: The Prisoner
After you successfully beat the Flamethrower Soldier, he'll drop a few grenades on the ground that you can pick up. There are two specific directions that you can go from here.
Choose the Left Path First
It's recommended that you first choose the path on the left, especially if you're hunting for posters/collectibles. Pick up a grenade and throw it on the wooden cupboard to the left to destroy it and open up the pathway. This will lead to a small room with a poster wall, where you can unlock one of REANIMAL: The Prisoner DLC's new artworks.
The Right Path Will Progress the Story
After you're done with the left path, head back outside, grab another grenade, and destroy the door to the right. This will lead to the next area and progress the story after you beat the Flamethrower Soldier in REANIMAL: The Prisoner DLC.
