To pay their taxes, bills, and afford better furniture, players will want to make money in Paralives. Naturally, getting a job is the most important step to becoming rich, and knowing how to climb the career ladder and maximize your Para's income is a skill of its own. However, there are also other ways to make money in this cozy life simulation game, such as selling art, completing goals, and doing side projects as a programmer.

How to Make a Donation to the Museum in Paralives

One of the first few 'Goals' you'll have in Paralives is to make a donation to the museum, but it's not a cash donation. Here's what you need to do.

Paralives is in Early Access, so expect more ways to make money to be introduced in the future.

Get Two Jobs

Paralives - Two Jobs

As long as they are both part-time and have different schedules, Paras can have two jobs at once. To get a new job in Paralives, simply use a PC to look for a job while already having one.

While this might not be sustainable in the long run, it's a good way to save money in the early stages of a Para's career. Just make sure they get enough sleep to be able to perform the jobs well, as you don't want to get strikes.

Choose Work Upgrade Perks Wisely

Paralives - Pick Work Perks

By working well and consistently, characters will gain upgrade points for their work, allowing them to choose one of three Career Perks. Some of these result in higher wages, so make sure to select these if a higher income is your goal.

Of course, others that increase the rate at which you level up at work can be good in the long run for climbing the career ladder, so consider these if you don't need the cash straight away, and consider them an investment in your Para's future.

Make & Sell Art

Paralives - Painting

By buying an art easel, Paras can draw or paint, and once they are done, you can click on the art to sell it. Naturally, as characters get better art, their paintings will sell for more. Some personality level-ups also allow paintings to be sold for more. You will only start off selling paintings for around $50, but within a few days, this can rise to $600.

Make sure to read art books to level up your Para's art skill.

It's also worth noting that it costs a small fee to begin a piece of art; this is the cost of the canvas and other art supplies.

Small Programming Contract

Paralives - Computer

When a Para who is good at programming levels up their personality, they may get the option of a Small Programming Contract Talent, which allows them to use their home computer to earn money each day.

For skill-based income, such as programming and painting, giving your character the best starting stats for these skills will help a lot, as will personality traits geared towards successful careers.

Complete Goals

Paralives - Reward

Some goals have cash rewards for completing them on top of XP or other boons. If you find a goal with a big payout, prioritize it on your way to becoming rich.

Some of these quests are given out by characters, and you need to speak to them once they are complete to get the reward.

You should also check out request boards around town for similar quests and goals from Townies.

Sell Items

Paralives - Treadmill

When moving into a house that is already furnished, players should scan it for items they don't need or want and sell them. Items are sold for the exact same price they are bought, so don't worry about cost efficiency.

When an item is required for a specific activity, you could even buy it and sell it when done.

Scratch & Peek

Buy Land, Build It Up, & Sell

Paralives - Sell House & Buy New House

If you're creative and good at building, consider buying empty land and developing it yourself to eventually sell. If done correctly, players could see big profit margins.

Get A Partner For Extra Income

Paralives - Flirting

Two incomes are better than one, so if your para is single, try to find a partner and ask them to move in. Bigger households are also possible, and having a full house of high earners is the best way to get rich in Paralives.

Look Out For Money-Related Story Cards

Paralives - Tax Bonus Story Card

Each night, Paras will get a choice of Story Cards from their chosen Storyteller. Some of these offer tax relief, promotions, extra income from work, or even big injections of cash.

The town of Paralives is pretty expansive and there's lots to see and do. Here's how to view the town map so you know where everything is in the game.

Check The Newspaper Each Day

Paralives - Newspaper

The newspaper in the bottom right should be checked each day in Paralives for many reasons, but for those who desire wealth, it's even more important, as there are sometimes free coupons to claim or events with cash prizes.

Choose A More Forgiving Storyteller

Paralives - Storyteller - Which Storyteller to Choose

Storytellers affect the Story Cards received each night, but they also determine the difficulty of the game to a certain extent. For example, Ricardo Castello III will provide more of life's challenges, and under his guardianship, I've seen a fire break out twice in one day, only a handful of days before the previous fire.

Depending on how far the fire spreads, replacing kitchen units can cost thousands, and other accidents may cause additional costs. Therefore, if you want to get rich in Paralives, set the friendly dog Stella as your Storyteller, or else Maxence for a more balanced playthrough.
