The Sealed Sanctum is one of the final areas players come across in Palworld 1.0. Reaching this area marks the last stretch of the game's main story. Even after entering the World Tree, progression comes to a halt when a mysterious barrier blocks the path deeper inside. Many players assume they're missing a key item, but unlocking the Sealed Sanctum is actually tied to defeating a bunch of powerful bosses hidden across the World Tree region. Once all the required objectives are complete, the barrier disappears, and you can finally get into Palworld’s Sealed Sanctum.

How to Unlock the Sealed Sanctum in Palworld

Before you can reach the Sealed Sanctum, the World Tree itself must first be unlocked. This requires progressing through the main story until the Ancient Civilization Researcher sends players on the Panthalus quest.

After collecting the required whale bones, crafting the Echoing Flute, and capturing the Level 70 Panthalus, return to the World Tree terminal. Interacting with it removes the barrier surrounding the World Tree and opens the new endgame region.

The Panthalus quest is quite a long one that requires you to find and interact with an NPC, visit different map locations to find whale bones, and then return to your base. To help you get through it, we have a comprehensive guide that covers every part of this quest with detailed instructions. In addition, defeating and capturing Panthalus isn't an easy task either, since it's a level 70 Pal. We have a dedicated guide on How to Catch Panthalus in Palworld 1.0. It's one of the best flying Pals out there. I personally use it whenever I need to cover huge distances quickly.

As players travel through the World Tree, another magical barrier eventually blocks the route to the Sealed Sanctum. From a journal, you’ll learn that three powerful guardians have to be defeated before the seal can be broken.

Once these bosses are defeated and their key items are collected, the barrier opens automatically, and you can enter the Sealed Sanctum.

Defeat the Three World Tree Guardians

Opening the Sealed Sanctum requires clearing three separate boss arenas scattered around the edges of the World Tree map. Each boss drops a unique item needed to break the seal.

Silvance at Shinespore Root

In the southwest corner of the World Tree, you’ll find Shinespore Root, the home of the Level 78 Silvance boss.

Silvance is the easiest of the three guardians, although it still packs plenty of dangerous attacks. Its largest attack creates a huge green whirlwind around its body, forcing players to move away quickly before it detonates. It can also scatter explosive pollen across the arena while launching long-range spikes and blade projectiles.

After defeating or capturing Silvance, players receive Silvance's Plume, the first item needed to unlock the barrier.

Since Silvance is a Fire-type Pal, a strong Water Pal can make this fight faster and easier.

Dandilord at Rotmist Root

The second guardian waits at Rotmist Root in the northeast section of the World Tree. Here players battle Dandilord, the Bewitching Lurker, inside an arena that looks like it’s filled with poison. Fortunately, the green sludge covering the battlefield is only visual and does not inflict any damage.

Dandilord is noticeably more aggressive than Silvance. Its sustained beam attack can completely remove a fully charged shield in seconds, while tracking purple orbs constantly pressures both players and Pals. It can also release an instant wind burst around itself and leave lingering mist behind after dashing across the arena.

Victory rewards players with Dandilord's Petal, the second key required for the seal.

Clear the Forbidden Laboratory

The final challenge is found in the northwest corner of the World Tree at the Forbidden Laboratory. Entering the Forbidden Laboratory is a bit tricky. Entering the Forbidden Laboratory is a bit tricky. When you hit the cage wall, move left and pass through the small opening, keep moving, fight plenty of Pals along the way, and you'll eventually make it.

Instead of a single boss, players have to defeat four waves of highly modified Pals.

  • The first battle features Grizzbolt and Lyleen.
  • The second wave features Faleris and Orserk.
  • The third wave pits players against Selyne and Shadowbreak.
  • The final and toughest fight includes Shaolong alongside Bastigor, whose freezing attacks can quickly become overwhelming if ignored.
  • After surviving all four encounters, players will receive the Pal's Containment Core, completing the three required materials to open the Sealed Sanctum.
  • Enter the Sealed Sanctum.

With Silvance's Plume, Dandilord's Petal, and the Pal's Containment Core collected, return to the magical barrier in the western section of the World Tree.

Interacting with it doesn’t consume any of the items. Instead, the barrier simply recognizes that every guardian has been defeated and fades away, granting you access to the Sealed Sanctum.

There is no lengthy cutscene here, but the newly opened path leads directly toward the final stages of Palworld's main story.

Can I enter the Sealed Sanctum before unlocking the World Tree?

No. The Sealed Sanctum is part of the World Tree questline and cannot be reached until the World Tree barrier has been removed.

What level should I be before attempting the Sealed Sanctum?

Most enemies and bosses in this area are around Level 78 to Level 80. It is true endgame content, so high-level equipment and well-trained Pals are strongly recommended.
