The Elbaf arc of One Piece has seen the reveal of quite a few legendary devil fruits, one after another. In One Piece chapter 1175, the legendary Devil Fruit of the Warrior God, Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, was revealed. Shortly after, in One Piece Chapter 1179, the ultimate Devil Fruit, Akuma no Mi, wielded by Nerona Imu, was unveiled to us. One Piece chapter 1182 also set up the potential existence of the Rain God Zaza Devil Fruit.

Quite clearly, Eiichiro Oda is unveiling one powerful Devil Fruit after another, and these reveals are not going to stop. Eiichiro Oda plans to wrap up One Piece's Elbaf arc in 2026. Immediately after, a plethora of new Devil Fruit reveals are on the way, among which is a legendary Devil Fruit ability that can be described best as a natural disaster in and of itself. This Devil Fruit belongs to none other than the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army: Monkey D. Dragon. A proper glimpse at its abilities has already been given in chapters 100 and 794.

While Dragon's Devil Fruit isn't fully clear at this point, what we do know for a fact is that he has a Devil Fruit ability. The powers of this Devil Fruit were first shown in One Piece chapter 100, which was released on August 9, 1999, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 37-38. In this chapter, Dragon clearly brought with him cumulonimbus, which Nami noticed immediately due to a sudden decline in air pressure. A massive storm came with Dragon to Loguetown, and he started showcasing his ability by first using a lightning bolt from the sky to free his son, Monkey D. Luffy, from an execution platform. Immediately after, Dragon caused a massive storm that blew all the Marines away and paved the way for his son's successful escape from the island.

“A storm is headed for Loguetown. The air pressure has been dropping for a while now. Not only that, but I also saw cumulus clouds heading from the East. That's a sure sign of a storm!” — Nami explaining the effects of Dragon’s Devil Fruit ability, One Piece Chapter #99

Fast forwarding to the Sabo flashback from Dressrosa, which officially began in One Piece chapter 794 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 22-23 on April 27, 2015, Eiichiro Oda once again focused on Dragon quite a bit. Eiichiro Oda showcased Dragon utilizing his Devil Fruit powers to traverse the skies and land on the deck of Wind Granma, his flagship, after saving Sabo. The ability he was using to fly was hidden completely by the author, but it was clear that he was utilizing a specific Devil Fruit power to accomplish this feat. Putting 2 and 2 together, it is clear that Dragon has an ability that can cause natural disasters related to wind, rain, lightning, and, most importantly, fly utilizing the said ability as well. All things put together, Dragon's Devil Fruit ability is either a Logia related to weather manipulation, or a Mythical Zoan that grants similar powers.

Monkey D. Dragon's Devil Fruit Reveal Is The Last Big Ability Reveal In The Final Saga

As things stand, Monkey D. Dragon's Devil Fruit ability could either be the Arashi Arashi no Mi, also known as the Storm Storm Fruit, which would perfectly fit in the Logia category, and was even teased in the Elbaf arc. Alternatively, it could be the Mythical God Devil Fruit with powers of weather manipulation, such as Rain God Zaza, which was also teased officially in One Piece chapter 1182 on May 10, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #24.

“I will create a military force that will be capable of fighting back against the Government. I will change the whole world. Just watch, Vegapunk!” — Monkey D. Dragon aims for war, One Piece Chapter #1066

These abilities would fit perfectly when looking at what Dragon can do with what he has shown in his limited battles so far. In either case, Dragon's Devil Fruit reveal is going to be the last big ability that we will see in the final saga of One Piece. Almost every other top-tier who uses a Devil Fruit has had their abilities revealed already, and Dragon is going to be the last one to showcase what he is truly capable of in combat. This is also one of the reasons why his ability reveal is going to be special. There must be a reason why Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, is saving Dragon's Devil Fruit for the very last, and we absolutely cannot wait to see what powers he holds when the legendary author finally unveils it.
