Today Moldova celebrates the Romanian language — thousands of people writing the national dictation together in the central square in Chișinău. Our grandparents kept our language alive through bans and fear. We speak it freely now, and we will pass it on to our children.

Last night in Chișinău with Presidents @ZelenskyyUa and @NicusorDanRO — and with thousands of young Moldovans who came to celebrate our 35 years of independence.

35 years of independence, and two neighbours, two friends beside us. Thank you, @NicusorDanRO and @ZelenskyyUa, for coming to Chișinău. Our trilateral was productive: closer connections, stronger support for one another, more security for all three countries.

Deeply saddened by the passing of His Majesty King Harald V. I will always remember the warmth with which he and Queen Sonja received me in Oslo, and Norway’s support for Moldova in our most difficult years. My condolences to the Royal Family and the Norwegian people.

Today Moldova marks 35 years of independence. Those who won it did their duty. Ours is to grow the country they created. We honour them, we celebrate what we have built together, and we keep walking firmly towards the European Union.
