- While all these betting shops are going cheap - the racing industry (!) somehow could do with buying plenty up, taking out the FOBTs and making them places where you can bet on racing through the sport's own tote monopoly and bet fixed odds on other sport. Make them look nice etc
- What the hell is going on? Bookies now public enemy No1.The Government has announced new plans to crack down on bookmakers on our high streets. Andy Burnham has withdrawn the aim to permit rule, so in England any new bookmaker needs planning permission. As co-chair of the Gambling Reform APPG, I welcome these new plans.
