A friend of mine had a water leak at home. She had no idea until a sky-high utility bill arrived weeks later. The same thing happens to digital publishers every single month. For years, adtech vendors have told publishers to trust the process and let them handle monetization. But if a buyer integration breaks, the publisher only finds out when the revenue report comes up short weeks later. Publishers deserve real-time visibility and control over their monetization – because you shouldn’t have to wait 30 days to catch a fixable leak in your ad revenue. In my latest piece for Advertising Week, I write about three shifts publishers need to survive the next phase of AI and my recommendations. Read it here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gSAkHJR5

The times, they are a-changin'. And back in '65, when Bob Dylan first released this song, he didn't even know how much a-changin' was still ahead. Google has released the technical specifications for the automated migration of legacy campaign-level broad match and automatically created assets (ACA) to AI Max, rolling out throughout September 2026. This is a-change in campaign infrastructure and means we need to measure performance differently. To help advertisers navigate the progressive rollout and keep reporting intact, Google is introducing two new campaign fields: • campaign.aca_migration_date_time • campaign.broad_match_migration_date_time To get ahead of the a-change, it will be good to integrate these timestamp fields into your automated reporting dashboards so that you can evaluate the real uplift / friction caused by the transition. It's one small step for man, one giant leap for automation. As media managers feel like the control is slipping out of their hands, those who build the measurement framework that still provides the insights will come out on top at the end of the day. The next major ad network may not look like a network. It may look like a conversation. AI agents understand what consumers want, compare products, surface relevant offers, and increasingly connect discovery directly to purchase. This changes advertising from buying media inventory to competing for decision inventory. The winners will connect consumer intent, product data, publishers, creators, and transaction outcomes through one intelligent commerce layer. https://lnkd.in/gdBtgP2x #AIAdvertising #CommerceMedia #AgenticCommerce #AICommerce

Everyone in AdTech loves “transparency” (or at least to toss around the term) until it has to be written into the contract. If advertisers can't control their data and audit where the money went and independently verify what actually ran isn't the dashboard just a promise because the important part is buried in the fine print. #ICYMI ... Dr. Augustine Fou released public MSA language to change that: https://lnkd.in/eQVTB87k FouAnalytics "see Fou yourself" #AdTech #Transparency #FightingFraud

IAB México — the digital advertising industry's own association — just covered Databricks Ventures' extension round for Muttdata. AI sits inside marketing's critical workflows now — attribution, decision engines, paid media optimization — and its output is only as good as the data and governance underneath it. The trade press sees it. The capital sees it too. We've spent years building at exactly that intersection: MarTech and Retail Media on serious data foundations. The industry's own institutions describing the shift in those terms is the real signal here. The IAB piece 🔗: https://lnkd.in/ekv5StFN

Last week I shared this wake-up call for publishers: Strong content. Weak signals. Lower value in the auction. That gap is only getting wider. Third-party cookies continue to fade and AI search is intercepting more traffic before it ever reaches the page. The audience you already have is becoming more valuable — and more expensive to under-monetise. Publishers attaching reliable identity and contextual signals to their inventory are holding higher bid density. Those who aren’t are competing on price. We’re working on this exact problem at NinaData from a publisher-first perspective: incremental inventory, one script, fully managed, with short-term minimum revenue guarantees available to support early adoption. If you’re seeing softer CPMs on quality inventory and want to understand what stronger signals look like in practice, happy to share. #onlineadvertising #cpm #monetisation #publisher

“Over half of SMBs globally on Google Ads now use Google AI to create or optimize their creative.” (Source: Google internal data, Global, January-June 2026) Creative variety is the biggest driver of ad performance across Google YouTube campaigns, including Demand Gen. However, producing multiple high-quality video formats - vertical, horizontal, and square - has traditionally been a heavy lift for marketers. Starting today, Google Google DeepMind ’s flagship model, Gemini Omni, is enabling new multimodal video creation capabilities directly within Asset Studio in Google Ads

The latest shift shows AI-powered search heavily prioritizing complete and consistent NAP data from your Google Business Profile and other online listings. This means your listings now often serve as direct answers, making accurate citation cleanup more critical for visibility than ever before. Establish a master NAP format and audit all online mentions, starting with Google Business Profile and major aggregators like Foursquare.
