Your traffic for simple questions is probably dropping, and that is actually okay. With AI Overviews answering basic "What is X?" queries right at the top of the search results, users don't need to click on a website to get a textbook definition anymore. If your entire SEO strategy was built on glossary terms and simple definitions, you are going to lose organic clicks. You have to stop targeting the "What" and start targeting the "How" and the "Why." AI can synthesize a definition. AI cannot synthesize a case study, a contrarian industry opinion, or a first-hand review based on real experience. At least for now.
