Scion Executive Search has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced and visionary Vice President of Brand on behalf of a rapidly scaling, category-defining agentic marketing SEO organization. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and creative marketing leader to shape and define an emerging category, elevate brand presence, and drive market perception at scale. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in San Francisco, CA, reporting directly to the CEO and Co-Founder.

THE ROLE: Our client is building a category-defining platform within the evolving AI and marketing technology landscape. With strong revenue traction, a growing team, and significant market momentum, the organization is entering a pivotal stage of growth.

The Vice President of Brand will play a critical leadership role in defining the company's market position, establishing a clear and compelling narrative, and ensuring the organization becomes synonymous with this emerging category.

The VP of Brand is not a traditional brand role. This leader will architect the company’s market narrative, build and scale a high-performing brand function, and partner closely with executive leadership to drive visibility, engagement, and long-term brand equity.

Responsibilities

Category Leadership & Market Positioning

  • Define and establish the company’s category narrative, positioning, and market language.
  • Develop thought leadership frameworks, proprietary insights, and research that shape industry perception.
  • Drive initiatives that position the organization as the authority within its space.

Executive & Founder Brand Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content and visibility strategy for the CEO and Co-Founder.
  • Build scalable systems for executive thought leadership across social, video, and written platforms.
  • Partner closely with leadership to amplify voice, credibility, and market influence.

Brand & Creative Leadership

  • Lead and scale the brand, content, social, and creative functions.
  • Oversee multi-channel brand execution, including digital, social, PR, and content strategy.
  • Manage and optimize agency relationships and external partners.
  • Build and develop a high-performing, collaborative team.

Brand Systems & Consistency

  • Own brand identity, voice, messaging, and visual standards across all touchpoints.
  • Ensure consistency across product, marketing, sales, and community channels.
  • Partner cross-functionally to embed brand excellence into the customer experience.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in a senior brand leadership role.
  • Proven success in building or evolving a brand within a high-growth SaaS technology environment.
  • Experience leading and scaling multidisciplinary teams (content, creative, social, communications).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop market-facing positioning that drives adoption and awareness.
  • Strong editorial and storytelling capabilities with an eye for high-quality content.
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership on thought leadership and brand visibility.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, scaling organization.

Preferred

  • Experience contributing to or leading category creation within a technology or SaaS environment.
  • Background in design-forward, product-led, or community-driven organizations.
  • Familiarity with AI, marketing technology, or digital ecosystems.
  • Experience building founder-led or executive-led brand platforms.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Base Salary: $250,000 – $300,000 (DOE)
  • Equity: Meaningful equity participation
