We are actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in designing HVAC systems for commercial buildings. This is a direct hire position in Charlotte, NC. This role is responsible for designing commercial building HVAC systems and supporting multidisciplinary MEP engineering projects.
Responsibilities
Design HVAC systems for commercial buildings and large facilities
Develop mechanical system layouts and construction documentation using AutoCAD and Revit
Perform cooling load calculations and system sizing for building mechanical systems
Coordinate HVAC designs with electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering disciplines
Support engineering documentation and technical design reviews
Collaborate with project teams to deliver complete MEP system designs
Participate in project meetings and coordinate design requirements for building systems
Support engineering analysis and design updates throughout project development
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of HVAC design experience for commercial buildings
Experience working within MEP engineering environments
Proficiency using AutoCAD and Revit for mechanical system design
Experience performing hands-on HVAC system design and documentation
Knowledge of mechanical system design principles for commercial facilities
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; extensive industry experience considered in place of degree
Preferred Skills
Experience designing HVAC systems for hospitals or healthcare facilities
Experience performing cooling load calculations using Trace 700
Experience with electrical and plumbing systems within MEP design environments
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary building system designs
