"The question is rarely whether the first unit can be built." Re:Build solves this. We take products from prototype through full-rate production for aerospace and defense partners, across composites, metallics, wire harnesses, battery systems, and the design services that connect them. That includes the qualified processes, testing infrastructure, and manufacturing capacity required to move from a working unit to a program that can sustain deployment. Jay's point is that getting a system to actually perform in the field takes goes beyond the first build. You need materials and components that are qualified, processes that repeat, and capacity that scales with demand. We're a proud sponsor of SoCal Deep Tech Week, Sept 14 to 18 in Long Beach. If your program needs the capability behind the next generation of aerospace and defense systems, let us know.
The number of times I've heard an early-stage founder say, "We can build the drone {or insert any technology area}," has made me think we are often asking the wrong question. The question is rarely whether the first unit can be built. U.S. defense officials told the AP that stocks of advanced missile interceptors in Europe are "beyond critical." Story in the comments. The question is whether we can build everything behind it: the critical materials, specialized components, propulsion, manufacturing capacity, testing infrastructure, logistics, field support, and replenishment needed to turn a product into a capable effect. The prototype is the beginning. Sustained deployment is the test. Success gets measured in capable effects delivered. A working system in the right place, on the right network, with the reloads to keep it operating. That layer underneath the drone is why we spend our year building two rooms. Sept 14 to 18, Long Beach. SoCal Deep Tech Week, where the building happens. Sept 28 to 29, New York. The New York National Security Forum, where the capital and buyers convene. If you make the materials, the components, the propulsion, the test capacity, or anything else that sits in this layer, request a seat at either one.
