Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Information Technology Manager for a full-time, on-site role in Lansing, MI. The IT Manager will oversee the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring system reliability and performance, and implementing technical strategies to meet organizational needs. Responsibilities include managing IT projects, supervising a team of IT professionals, ensuring network security, managing vendor contracts, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role requires effective collaboration across departments to enhance technological capabilities and support business objectives.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and management skills to oversee IT teams and project execution
- Experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and network security
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and maintaining IT systems
- Knowledge of vendor management, budget planning, and procurement processes
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and developing strategies for integration
- Excellent communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CompTIA Project+ are a plus
- Experience in IT operations within Fortune 500 or large organizations is desirable
Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure and Security Management
· Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and IT systems to ensure optimal performance and resilience.
· Oversee the rollout of AIM Utilization across all department in the organization to improve accuracy in data driven decision making, efficiencies in operations, labor and purchasing.
· Oversee the update to MAS Database replacement to ensure a seamless transition, alignment, and reliability of system performance
· Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, EMS, and IT security standards.
· Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, proactively mitigating risks.
Strategic Planning and Policy Development
· Develop and implement long-term IT strategies aligned with business goals, including system upgrades and new technology initiatives.
· Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures, integrating industry best practices to ensure data protection and network security.
Technical Support and User Services
· Provide hands-on technical support across all shifts, addressing software, hardware, and network issues promptly.
· Manage the IT help desk and ticketing system, analysing support trends to enhance service efficiency and reduce recurring issues.
· Develop and conduct training programs to enhance staff proficiency in IT systems.
Asset and Vendor Management
· Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, overseeing lifecycle management for cost-effective upgrades.
· Manage IT vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements, ensuring efficient resource allocation within the IT budget.
· Manage Website design and management to align with business branding and business goals.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
· Research and implement emerging technologies to improve efficiency, cybersecurity, and automation, driving IT process improvements aligned with Industry 4.0 initiatives.
· Evaluate and recommend automation technologies, cloud migration strategies, and advanced analytics solutions where applicable.
Compliance and Documentation
· Ensure IT operations comply with plant safety requirements, OSHA standards, and Environmental Management System (EMS) protocols.
· Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, policies, and procedures, generating reports on performance metrics and compliance adherence.
Availability and Support
· Ensure IT support coverage across all shifts, including on-call availability and overtime support when necessary to maintain critical manufacturing operations.

· Maintain 99% or higher network uptime quarterly.
Cybersecurity Incident Rate
· Number of detected and reported cybersecurity incidents.
· Zero successful breaches annually.
User Satisfaction
· Feedback from internal users regarding IT services.
· Achieve a user satisfaction score of 4.5 out of 5 in annual surveys.
Project Delivery
· Percentage of IT projects completed on time and within budget and scope.
· Successfully deliver 90% of critical projects on schedule and 80% of all projects as scheduled – all projects within budget
Compliance Rate
· Adherence to industry regulations and internal IT policies.
· 100% compliance in annual audits.
Qualifications and Training
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Minimum 5 years of IT experience, with at least 2 years in an IT leadership or management role in a manufacturing environment.
Certifications:
· CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (preferred).
Requirements:
· Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments, VMware virtualization, and network administration.
· Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, threat detection, and endpoint protection.
· Experience with SQL databases, ERP systems, IT asset management tools, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS).
· Understanding of data-centre management and IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL.
· Familiarity with Java programming is a plus.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
· Strong Project Management
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to shifting priorities.
· Demonstrated leadership in IT strategy planning, vendor management, and process improvement.
