Information Technology Infrastructure Manager

Overview

This is a hands‑on, player/coach role for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager who can lead teams while staying close to the technology. The environment is complex and multi‑site, requiring strong infrastructure fundamentals, multi‑cloud experience, and an active leadership style.

This role is ideal for someone who can set direction, drive accountability, and act as a change agent, while partnering closely with peers and stakeholders across IT. Role is Hybrid, onsite near Burlington, MA 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop an infrastructure team (currently 5 engineers; team will grow)
• Remain hands‑on while providing architectural and technical guidance
• Own day��to‑day infrastructure operations across a distributed environment
• Drive stability, scalability, security, and continuous improvement
• Lead infrastructure initiatives end‑to‑end (requirements, design, implementation)
• Manage incidents, escalations, and post‑incident improvements
• Partner with vendors and internal teams to deliver reliable solutions

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of people management experience (required)
• Proven success leading infrastructure across multiple locations
• Strong, directive leadership style (not passive)
• Background as a hands‑on infrastructure engineer prior to management
• Experience in complex, multi‑tenant, multi‑cloud environments

Core Technical Requirements:

Candidates must have experience across all of the following:

• Servers & Virtualization: Server hardware, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper‑V
• Cloud: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud (multi‑cloud required)
• Core Services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file/print, certificates, identity
• Storage, Backup & Recovery
• Complex Environments: Multi‑tenant, multi‑domain, multi‑forest
• Endpoint & Device Management: PCs, Macs, peripherals, printers, Intune
• Microsoft 365: Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Office, Copilot, Windows OS, Defender, MFA
• Networking: Firewalls, switches, routers, access points; Fortinet preferred
• Data Center Operations: Racks, cabling, power, cooling
• Monitoring, Patch & Asset Lifecycle Management (automation preferred)
