The Head of Production & Development is a rare dual-threat leader who can build great shows and execute them at the highest level. This role owns Dirty Mo Media’s creative pipeline from concept through delivery — developing original programming, overseeing client productions, executing live events, and physically building out the infrastructure needed to support DMM’s next chapter, including the full outfitting of our warehouse as a primary podcast studio.

They work hand-in-hand with executive leadership, sales, talent, and marketing to ensure everything we produce reflects who we are and where we’re going.

Production & Technical Oversight
Direct end-to-end production for DMM original programming, client projects (commercials, branded content, sponsorship integrations), and live events
Oversee scheduling, resourcing, and execution of all productions, ensuring every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard
Maintain technical and creative quality control across audio, video, editing, and publishing workflows
Troubleshoot production challenges proactively and implement workflow improvements as the company scales
Support seamless execution of ad integrations, sponsorship deliverables, and branded content for commercial clients
Manage production and event budgets with disciplined cost control that never sacrifices quality
Specify and procure equipment, sets, acoustic treatment, lighting, and technology infrastructure required to support multiple concurrent shows
Develop and document technical standards, workflows, and studio operating procedures for all DMM shows
Identify and implement new technologies and tools to keep DMM at the forefront of content production
Lead the planning, design, and full outfitting of DMM’s warehouse as the company’s primary podcast and video studio, timed to the transition out of JRM at year-end
Specify and procure equipment, sets, acoustic treatment, lighting, and technology infrastructure required to support multiple concurrent shows in DMM’s warehouse, and in any other studio locations where we’re operating shows
Development & Creative Programming
Lead DMM’s development slate — podcasts, video series, documentaries, branded projects, and creator-driven concepts
Generate, solicit, and evaluate new show ideas that fit DMM’s tone, audience, and strategic growth goals
Collaborate with existing talent to develop new elements, formats and series
Scout and nurture new voices and creators who embody DMM’s authenticity and edge
Oversee creative development materials — pitch decks, treatments, pilot outlines, and test episodes
Track industry trends and audience insights to identify emerging opportunities in sports, culture, and lifestyle media
Serve as a creative brand guardian, ensuring all projects uphold DMM’s values of authenticity, passion, and relatability
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and manage the production team including producers, editors, technicians, and independent contractors
Build systems and workflows that enable efficient, high-quality output across multiple shows, clients, and events simultaneously
Set a daily example of accountability, creativity, passion, honesty, and craftsmanship
Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and career development opportunities to team members
Participate in hiring decisions and talent selection; make staffing recommendations to leadership
Strategic & Business Alignment
Partner with executive leadership to align production and development operations with company growth and revenue strategy
Maintain a strong network of talent, agents, producers, and industry partners relevant to sports, culture, and lifestyle media

Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required (media, communications, film, business, or related field)
7+ years of experience spanning media production and content development
At least 2 years in a staff or team management role
Proven track record of shows or productions that made it to market and performed
Skills Required
Technical proficiency in audio/video production, editing software, studio equipment specification, and publishing tools
Hands-on experience planning or building production facilities, studios, or sets — or the technical knowledge to lead that process
Strong organizational and resource management skills with an acute attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to lead creative teams and technical teams simultaneously across multiple concurrent projects
Strong storytelling instincts and deep understanding of audience engagement and brand alignment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for managing internal stakeholders, external clients, and talent
Comfort with client-facing work including commercials, branded content, and sponsorship deliverables
