Digital Content Editor (Remote / EST Hours)

A nationally recognized media organization is seeking a Digital Content Editor for a Remote role open to candidates in the United States, with a preference for EST hours. This position supports fast-moving editorial publishing, SEO optimization, and content production across entertainment, music, sports, podcasts, and related topics.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day

• Schedule: Monday to Friday

• Hours: 9am to 6pm (EST hours)

• Setting: Remote

Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, optimize, publish, and update digital blog content across entertainment, music, sports, podcasts, programming, and related topics

• Produce timely content around breaking news, celebrity interviews, sports tune-in information, programming announcements, and other high-interest developments

• Monitor search trends, audience behavior, and the broader digital landscape to identify relevant editorial opportunities

• Evaluate interviews, transcripts, clips, press materials, and programming details to determine the strongest angles for coverage

• Manage the full WordPress publishing workflow, including drafting, formatting, tagging, linking, imagery, metadata, scheduling, publishing, updates, and quality checks

• Optimize headlines, title tags, meta descriptions, URLs, subheads, internal links, and other on-page elements to support discoverability

Qualifications:

• Professional experience creating digital editorial content

• Strong hands-on experience with WordPress or a comparable CMS

• Working knowledge of SEO, including keyword strategy, search intent, internal linking, URL structure, content freshness, and on-page optimization

• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and headline-writing skills
  

• Proficiency using LLMs and generative AI tools in professional content workflows

• Ability to write and publish quickly while maintaining accuracy and quality

• Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to independently QA published work

• Ability to prioritize a high volume of requests and adapt quickly to time-sensitive opportunities

• Comfort working cross-functionally and communicating with multiple stakeholders

Desired Skills:

• Experience creating Digital Editorial Content in entertainment, music, sports, media, or pop culture

• Familiarity with Google Search and digital news trend cycles

• Experience sourcing, selecting, cropping, and preparing editorial imagery

• Experience creating tracked URLs or deep links to support content performance

• Experience maintaining evergreen and recurring content pages
