Micron will officially break ground on our megafab in Onondaga County, New York on January 16, 2026. This $100 billion project is the largest private investment in New York state history and will be home to the most advanced memory manufacturing in the world, helping meet the growing demands of #AI systems that are central to the modern economy. With up to four fabs, this megafab site will create 50,000 jobs in New York and will be the largest semiconductor facility in the United States. Steve Zimba liked thisSteve Zimba liked thisThis is the 35 1/2 year old server key to my 1st major IT project from the last century at Portage County a month after being hired. I was recently gifted this key to this Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC)VAX 6000-420. This system was procured, installed, and went operational in a 5 week window from September to November in 1990 running mission critical financial, payroll, and property & tax record systems. As part of this system, we purchased three (3) 1GB hardrives at $21K each! As part of project, we also built a new data center and wired a seven story building. All in 5 weeks! Employees went home on a Friday logging off of the old Vax. The following Monday was Veterans Day so everyone was off work. We went to work installing the new system and migrating apps and data to this new Vax. When employees came back to work on Tuesday and sat down at their desks and logged on, they were working on the new system!!! When we installed Y2K patches in 1999, the system had been running for over a year continuously without reboot or shutdown! #20thCenturyTechology #DigitalEquipmentCorporation
