Steve Roach reacted on thisSteve Roach reacted on thisWhen I left tech, I knew what I was walking away from. The salary, the stability, the identity that came with it. But I also knew something I hadn't fully said out loud yet: the way I was living that life wasn't going to make me the kind of parent I wanted to be. I didn't have Cammy yet. But I could already see how the math worked. I wasn't willing to find out the hard way. So when I made the leap into real estate, it wasn't just about passion — though the passion was real. What I didn't expect was how much one would make me better at the other. I got married to Christine, the woman who held everything steady while I studied for my license on nights and weekends, long before any of this made financial sense. Somewhere in the middle of building this new career, we became a family of three. Cammy is two now. This career is the reason I get to be there for her the way I always intended — the weekday mornings we just sit together, the afternoon pickup, the small ordinary moments that don't sound like much until you realize they're the whole point. Christine saw this in me before I could fully see it in myself. I don't take that lightly. I think about my parents a lot. They left Vietnam and Cambodia with almost nothing, built businesses from scratch, and worked over 100 hours a week not because they loved the grind, but because they loved us. The work was an act of love. I work harder in real estate than I ever did in tech. But the hustle feels different when you know exactly what it's for. Being present at home doesn't make me work less. If anything, it makes me work with more intention. Every client I work with is figuring out where their family belongs next. I never take that lightly. What keeps me going is the extended family crowded into a closing room sharing something they've been hoping for together. The client who wrote that they felt guided and supported. The seller who places their keys in your hand and you just know how much trust they've placed in you. That's the job. That's the part I love. Cammy doesn't understand any of this yet. She just knows her dad shows up. Turns out, that's exactly where love lives.

Parks Associates research shows that the streaming stack has been flat for several years, with streaming video subscription plateauing at 89% of US households and each streaming household subscribing to ~5.7 paid streaming services. Consumers are facing rising cost of living across all categories. This has led to are cutting higher priced services, typically pay TV, and moving to cheaper ad-supported plans to afford multiple SVOD services. The use of FAST and AVOD services grew by 6 points YoY, reaching 47% of US households in Q1 2025, as the number of these services available to consumers expands." https://lnkd.in/gdTHB4aD
