Miguel Bañón Kelley shared thisConnecting fans with the artists they love isn’t just a corporate mission statement for us at Spotify. It is something we live out on the ground every day. 🇨🇴✨ This past weekend, the Spotify Colombia team brought Ryan Castro back to Bogotá for an exclusive celebration with his top Spotify listeners. It was a beautiful tribute to his journey from performing on local streets to becoming a global icon, proudly carrying the title of "EL CANTANTE DEL GHETTO." Every month, more than 31.1 million Spotify listeners around the world hit play on Ryan’s music, while his songs are featured in over 38.6 million playlists. Fans in Bogotá have been especially enthusiastic, with streams in the city increasing more than 1,398% since 2021.

Miguel Bañón Kelley shared thisThe news from Spotify's Investor Day in NYC just dropped, and the energy is unmatched. ⚡ We are marking our 20th anniversary by completely reimagining the media player for the generative era. Here are the three of my favorite things that were higlighted: 📈 Brazil is a powerhouse: Our business in Brazil has scaled massively. The user base has grown fourteenfold since 2016, and 44% of those users have now converted to Premium. 🎫 Reserved by Spotify: Top fans will soon get exclusive access to tour tickets held just for them before the general public, launching with Live Nation this summer. 🎛️ Authorized Remixes: Premium users will get a new add-on tool to create covers and remixes of their favorite UMG tracks, with artist compensation built right into the platform. We are giving users more control, deeper connection, and better access than ever before. #SpotifyLATAM #InvestorDay2026 #MusicTech #StreamingEconomy https://lnkd.in/eGFHnxyrSpotify’s 2026 Investor Day Recap: Raising Ambition for the Next Era of Media — SpotifySpotify’s 2026 Investor Day Recap: Raising Ambition for the Next Era of Media — Spotify

Miguel Bañón Kelley shared thisThe world is listening to Latin America. 🌎✨ The global music market grew by 6.4% last year, but Latin America is moving at a completely different velocity. According to the new IFPI Global Music Report 2026, our region led the world with a staggering 17.1% revenue growth. This isn't just a "moment." It is the result of a long-term digital transformation. When Spotify first entered the region in 2013, the landscape was different. Today, that investment has helped build a mature, world-leading ecosystem where: 🇧🇷 Brazil has climbed to become the 8th largest music market in the world. 🇲🇽 Mexico has secured its place as the 10th largest market globally. Having two LATAM markets in the Global Top 10 is a testament to the region's creative and commercial power. Our Loud & Clear insights show exactly what is fueling this: - Spanish language music is no longer "niche." It is a global standard reaching audiences far beyond native speakers. - Brazilian Funk has become one of the most successful cultural exports in the world today. With 88.1% of the region’s revenue driven by streaming, the infrastructure we have been building since 2013 is supporting a thriving economy for artists. Latin America isn’t just catching up. We are setting the pace for the entire industry. 🎧🚀 #SpotifyLATAM #MusicBusiness #LatinMusic #LoudAndClear #LatinMusicGLOBAL MUSIC REPORT 2026: GLOBAL RECORDED MUSIC REVENUES GROW 6.4% AS RECORD COMPANIES DRIVE INNOVATION - IFPIGLOBAL MUSIC REPORT 2026: GLOBAL RECORDED MUSIC REVENUES GROW 6.4% AS RECORD COMPANIES DRIVE INNOVATION - IFPI

Miguel Bañón Kelley reposted thisMiguel Bañón Kelley reposted thisToday we published the latest edition of Loud & Clear, our annual report designed to demystify how artists earn money through streaming and highlight how the global music landscape continues to evolve. 🎶 We pay nearly 70% of every dollar generated from music back to your selected rights holders including distributors, record labels, publishers, PROs, and collecting societies. 💰 In 2025 alone, that totaled more than $11 billion, the largest annual payment to music from any retailer, and 10%+ growth year over year. 🌍 These payouts aren’t concentrated among a small group of superstars. Roughly half of all royalties were generated by independent artists and labels, reflecting the increasingly diverse and global nature of today’s music ecosystem. 📈 Since launching, Spotify has now paid out nearly $70 billion to music rights holders worldwide — a milestone as we celebrate 20 years of Spotify and two decades of supporting artists and the broader music industry. The opportunities, the relationships, the strategy, the dedication, all of it genuinely shaped me in ways that’s I’m still discovering years later. No one showed up like Dolly did. We were in the middle of a global pandemic and she was working harder than any artists I’ve ever seen. Peak 2020 we filmed seven…SEVEN videos with Condenast in one day. Dolly did it with one break the whole day. I was stuck in NYC while Sara Jordan Jacobson carried a laptop around with me as the sets were changed. There was a huge to do over a candle with Vogue (lol) And Dolly was the most gracious person throughout all of it. 74 years old GRINDING. It’s a day I’ll never forget because there were no complaints. One of the best lessons of professional grace that I’ve ever seen. She was 1 of 1 with a team who fiercely protected the world she created. I’m genuinely blown away by how grateful I am for the few years I was able to be a small part of that team. For being able to witness hard work like that. I’m so sad today. What a gift she was to us. What a legacy.

Miguel Bañón Kelley liked thisMiguel Bañón Kelley liked thisThere is a particular kind of energy that comes from running into someone you once worked closely with. Not networking. Not nostalgia. Something warmer. Especially when, with the benefit of distance, you realise they have become a bit of a legend in their own right. I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside some extraordinary people over the years. And every now and then, life puts one of them back in your path. A coffee. A dinner. An airport. A football game. A completely accidental encounter. And somehow you walk away taller & warmer. I don’t think it is simply because you used to work together. In itself, that means very little. We all have hundreds of former colleagues whose names sitting in our LinkedIn networks produce precisely zero emotional response. The ones who stay with us are different. Usually there was respect before friendship. And maybe even, an aquired taste. meaning not always seeing eye to eye on everything. There was growth theirs, yours and the organisation's. There were bold decisions made together when the answer wasn’t obvious. Moments when BS was called out and nobody was sensitive. There were probably a few battles. There sure was laughter. And there were those shoulder-to-shoulder periods when the workload was ridiculous, the challenge looked slightly impossible and somehow you figured it out together. Turns out there is some science behind that feeling too. Research on teams suggests that shared adversity can strengthen supportive interaction and social bonds, while work on team resilience repeatedly points to trust, shared identity, cohesion and psychological safety as important ingredients in how people navigate difficult moments together. Maybe that is why seeing certain former colleagues feels so energising. You are not only meeting the person standing in front of you today. For a moment, you are also meeting the younger versions of yourselves who took risks, got things wrong, learned, laughed, argued, delivered and grew up professionally alongside each other. Careers give us titles, companies, projects and achievements. But perhaps one of the most underrated returns on all those years of work is this: A handful of people you remain genuinely proud to have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with. And when you run into one of them, the meeting might last ten minutes. The energy can stay for days. Especially when it is a man who, amongst other things, made me think about the power of true camaraderie. Thank you Barry McCarthy 💚

Ahora sí: a correr As It Was. 🎧🏃 The story: https://lnkd.in/gjK_DPtS

Miguel Bañón Kelley liked thisMiguel Bañón Kelley liked thisIt's been a busy week at Spotify towers as we shared our Q2 earnings including the milestone that we now have 300m subscribers. 300m is mind-blowing to me, and I look at the dashboards every day. If Spotify Premium was a country it would be the 4th largest in the world. Imagine what that country would feel like? With Spotify we've built a community of music loving fans, who want to listen and discover, explore, share and play together. Imagine how fun that would be? Imagine what the streets would sound like? The fact nearly 4% of the world choose to pay monthly for the service, is not lost on us. Every day, clever colleagues show up to develop new ideas that add value to users, helping fans enjoy artists, and helping artists, authors and creators share and earn from their art. A great example is Song DNA, since launching in Beta in March, 100m subscribers have gone deep to understand the writers, producers and performers behind the. music. Or Reserved, which is helping make sure the biggest fans get tickets to the shows they don't want to miss. Proud of the teams past and present that have built this. Pinching myself I've had a front row seat for five years now. We go again... 💚

When I first joined Spotify, Spotify News was primarily a distribution platform for our announcements. Since then we've really grown our editorial landscape into more franchises, videos, data storytelling, and content that taps into the cultural moments people are already streaming through. The channel became so much more than what it had been so we knew it was time for a change. Rachel and I dug into all of it, the data that drove the decision, how we believe that content really is comms, the power of building for shareability, and some of the new stuff I'm most excited about (including a blind dating show hosted by Xavier "X" Jernigan!). I'm incredibly proud of the team behind this work (CJ Stanley, Alexa Hesseldenz, Denise Stephanie Hewitt, Kristina Ang, Maxwell Pepper, Natalie Patane, Federica Qualiano, Kelly Teh and so so many more!) and so grateful to Rachel for the opportunity to share this story. In PR, I've spent 15 years telling stories for brands I believe in. Neko Health is special. There's a reason 25,000 people are already on our NYC waitlist. People want something new — a way to get ahead of their health rather than waiting for symptoms to appear. At 300 Lafayette Street in SoHo, we'll offer a complete health assessment covering imaging, blood work, and cardiovascular — in under an hour, with a clinician who walks you through every finding before you leave. $499. I got my second Neko Health Scan last week and genuinely learned more about my health than ever before. The technical innovation, clinical excellence, and the care that goes into every aspect of the experience continues to blow me away. The thought behind each step of this journey is something I'm inspired by every day. More NYC locations to-come along with clinics in Miami, DC and SF — and those waitlists open today. I can't wait for you to experience it too: https://lnkd.in/gAedPrbt

Then get over here and work with CJ Stanley and me on the Spotify Communications Machine! https://lnkd.in/d_iFyp-B PS: I know the career advice videos say that messaging the hiring manager after applying is a great move. Here is another Spanish Language advertising misconception: “Spanish language media is only important in heavy Latino districts “ * Spanish-speaking voters are increasingly influential in battleground states, suburban counties, and emerging media markets across the country, not just traditional Latino strongholds. *Even relatively small shifts among Latino voters can determine outcomes in close races. In competitive elections, campaigns routinely spend millions chasing marginal persuasion gains among other audiences while underinvesting in one of the fastest growing and most reachable voter blocs. *Spanish- language media is often one of the most efficient ways to expand persuasion universes and improve turnout margins where elections are won and lost.
