Working remotely has made me appreciate face-to-face connection on a different level. There’s an energy and personal connection that simply can’t be replicated through a screen. It changes the entire dynamic. Technology gives us the ability to collaborate across cities, states, and even countries, which is incredible. But there’s still no substitute for sitting across the table, sharing a conversation, and connecting as humans. This is also why I make it a priority to meet with clients and candidates in person whenever possible. That’s where real relationships are built, trust is established, and partnerships truly take shape. If your team is remote, make the effort to get together. It matters more than we sometimes realize.

It was an afternoon filled with great conversations, connections, and inspiration. Hearing from Judy Smith was impactful to me. Her message was a reminder that leadership isn’t about perfection but rather accountability, resilience, and how you show up when it matters most. (psst… the hit tv show Scandal was inspired by her story) Being in a room surrounded by women who are leading, building, and breaking barriers across Tampa Bay was energizing. As an entrepreneur, it reminded me that when “the going gets tough” to still remember the importance of creating opportunities for the next generation of women leaders.
