Malhar Patil reposted thisMost adtech companies optimize impressions. Flam is redefining what an ad even is. It is building an AI-native, app-less mixed reality layer that turns any surface - packaging, print, TV, retail - into an interactive experience. Not clicks. Not views. Participation. That shift matters. Advertising is moving from attention → engagement → interaction → commerce. Flam is building the infrastructure for that entire stack. What stands out: I. Full-stack AI moat Not just an application layer. Flam combines proprietary GenAI + real-time MR infra (sub-second latency) with a verticalized ad platform. → Model + delivery + UX + distribution II. Category creation, not iteration This isn’t better creatives. It’s a new medium - immersive, measurable, commerce-ready content. III. Early global scale 100+ brands. Last year on 10th December 2025 I defended my PhD thesis titled 'Time-Dependent Capillary Micromechanics: Probing the Viscoelastic and Poroelastic Response of Soft Materials' at Eindhoven University of Technology. It was a day that I will cherish and remember forever. The research journey was filled with lots of questions (scientific and self), coffee and long hours in the lab. It would not have been possible without the support of my friends, family and colleagues. Thank you to all of you who have been a part of this journey. Or crazier - you and I might each have our own voice agents handling conversations on our behalf. Today, I heard some sharp perspectives on the use cases & future of Voice AI from Venky B (Plivo), Brandon Yang (Cartesia), and Nikhil Gupta (Vapi) at the State of Voice AI event in SF, hosted at Tesla. Some key insights: 👉 Building Voice Agents doesn't mean building better IVRs - it's redefining how humans and machines communicate. 👉 How the Semantic and Acoustic layers are both important and how they contribute towards better conversation flows. 👉 The infra layer for voice AI is maturing rapidly, unlocking entirely new verticals & applications. 👉 Companies facilitating Voice AI are working towards the foll. objectives - making the Voice Agents sound more humanlike, be more effective in understanding human speech nuances, and convey the information more accurately and promptly. Where Voice Agents can do better: 👉 Understanding speaker emotions like frustration due to convoluted/confused responses. 👉 Being more contextual when it comes to niche & information-sensitive topics like Healthcare, Insurance, Financial services, etc. 👉 How some real-world problems, like deploying voice agents for drive-through orders, are still unsolved due to technical bottlenecks. Curious to see how this plays out over the next 12–18 months...

Has India’s gaming sector hit by a funding slowdown? VC funding for gaming startups has plunged nearly 90% in just three years. Why? Real-money gaming has been hit by regulatory fog, GST fears, and wobbly monetisation models.. But there’s more here than a funding freeze. AI is quietly rewiring the gaming value chain. Infrastructure players and tools-focused startups are still drawing investor interest. So, what’s missing? Regulatory clarity, and a national framework that doesn’t punish innovation. Until then, even solid fundamentals like low data costs, a young digital-native population can’t drive the next boom. Find the story in the comments. Outlook Business

Big signal in India’s OTT + Gaming ecosystem (most people will miss this) Last week, Zupee quietly acquired micro-drama startup Vertical TV for < ₹40 Cr. At first glance, it looks like just another acquisition. It’s not. This is what’s really happening 👇 🎮 From Real-Money Gaming → Micro-Drama OTT After the government’s ban on real-money gaming, platforms like Zupee were forced to answer one brutal question: “If gaming is restricted, where does user attention go next?” Zupee’s answer: Short-form storytelling. So they launched Zupee Studio And now acquired Vertical TV to scale it faster. This isn’t random diversification. It’s attention arbitrage. Why micro-dramas make sense for gaming companies • Same mobile-first users • Same binge behavior • Same daily habit loops • Lower production risk • Multiple monetisation layers Gaming companies already understand: 👉 retention 👉 rewards 👉 episodic engagement Micro-dramas plug right into that playbook. This isn’t just Zupee After the RMG ban: WinZO moved into micro-dramas & subscriptions Dream Sports pivoted into watch-parties & creator-led formats Dream11 relaunched as a fan-engagement platform Multiple gaming startups laid off teams and quietly rebuilt around content Gaming → Content → Community → Commerce That’s the new stack. The bigger trend nobody is saying out loud Micro-drama OTT is becoming the Plan B (and soon Plan A) for: • Gaming startups • Social platforms • Short-video apps • Media companies Because when regulation hits transactions, attention still survives. And whoever owns attention can monetise later. My take: This Zupee–Vertical TV deal is not about content. It’s about who controls India’s next daily habit. Micro-dramas are no longer “experimental”. They’re now strategic infrastructure. If gaming companies are buying micro-drama startups, imagine what social apps, telcos, and ecommerce platforms are planning next. If you’re: • A founder exploring OTT or short-video • A gaming company looking beyond RMG • An investor tracking attention-led businesses This shift is worth paying attention to. Happy to brainstorm on micro-dramas, OTT strategy, or building scalable video platforms. 📩 DM open 📞 +91 9818399142 🌐 https://mogiio.com Source by Inc42 Media #MicroDrama #OTTPlatforms #MediaTech #ShortVideo #VernacularOTT

PVRINOX PICTURES is poised for significant growth in FY26, adding 100 new screens across India while optimising its portfolio by closing 10-15 non-performing screens after review. This strategic expansion highlights key trends shaping the Indian entertainment industry: 🔹 Expanding to tier III cities with affordable ticket pricing to deepen market penetration 🔹 Focus on southern states as high-growth regions with rising demand 🔹 Balancing content diversity with regional, Bollywood, and Hollywood films to drive consistent footfall 🔹 Innovation in cinema experiences, including luxury multiplexes and tech integration Just as India is becoming a global R&D powerhouse in automotive innovation—driven by deep talent, cost efficiency, and software-led transformation— PVRINOX PICTURES is pioneering a new phase of market expansion and customer-focused innovation. Here's how a typical game studio in India makes money 🎮 Revenue streams: • In-app purchases (IAP) • Ads (those rewarded videos you watch) • Premium features & subscriptions But here's what eats into their profits: Google Play takes 15% (sometimes up to 26%) GST gobbles up 18% on purchases Marketing costs to acquire users Team salaries & tech infrastructure The secret sauce? 🔑 Indian studios leverage lower development costs while targeting global markets. That's how they turn profitable despite tight margins. Fun fact: India has 500+ game studios building the next gaming revolution! #GameDev #StartupIndia #Gaming Thoughts? 🤔

1,298 gaming platforms just vanished from India overnight. $23 billion industry. Gone. Dream Sports, MPL, Zupee - all pulling the plug simultaneously. Most people think this is government overreach destroying innovation. But i think there is a big restructuring that will happen in the gaming industry. Real-money gaming banned completely. But e-sports and educational gaming? Full government backing. Think about this for a moment: -1.4 billion potential users being protected from financial addiction -Skill-based gaming getting institutional support -International companies scrambling to redesign their India strategy A lot of gaming apps that you use might end up completely changing their games and some might shut down. I personally think it will be very difficult for the existing real money gaming companies to exist. Some might ssay they can shift to advertisement revenue. Let me put this into picture: 1) Dream11's last year revenue $700million + 2) Total advertisement revenue of all gaming companies combined INR 6000crore+ Its a new playground altogether and i feel new companies will capture this space. Ps: Is there some sort of a curse ??

When most people think of the gaming industry, they think of players. But Saumya Singh Rathore? She built a platform that changed how the game is played. WinZO started in 2017. The gaming scene in India was just warming up. A few studios. Fewer monetization models. Zero infrastructure for vernacular gaming. While everyone was chasing the next big game, Saumya was building something else the rails. A platform with 100M+ users. 25+ games. 12+ Indian languages. Backed by Griffin Gaming and Kalaari. And most importantly built for Bharat. What gave her the edge? She didn’t just jump into startup life. She spent years behind the scenes at Times Group leading M&As, optimizing org structures, launching TV networks like Movies Now and Romedy Now. She learned how to build, scale, and lead before even writing a single line of game logic. Then came ZO Rooms, the pre-OYO era. Growth. Grit. Core team chaos. And when the time came to build WinZO, she wasn’t guessing. She had seen what not to do. Most founders are builders. Few are system thinkers. Saumya is both. She took an INTJ mind and mapped out the infrastructure for India’s gaming future while championing tier-2 and tier-3 creators, onboarding non-English-first users, and redefining monetization for casual gaming. And while many startups still only hire from IITs and IIMs, she proved that talent is everywhere if you know where to look. From English movies to vernacular gaming. From mergers to monetization. From Times Group boardrooms to Shark Tank India-worthy traction... Saumya didn’t just ride the wave. She helped build the tide. If India becomes the gaming capital of the world, it’ll be because platforms like WinZO made space for everyone to play.

In early 2026, YouTube made headlines by wiping out major AI slop channels, erasing over 4.7 billion views, 35 million subscribers, and nearly $10 million in annual revenue CEO Neal Mohan called it a top priority in his annual letter, emphasising the need to “reduce the spread of low-quality AI content” using advanced spam-detection systems This isn’t just talk; channels like CuentosFacianantes (5.9M subs) & Imperio de Jesus (5.8M subs) vanished because they pumped out repetitive, low-value AI quizzes & stories This shift is why I’m super bullish on personal branding in 2026 The bar is ridiculously low right now: AI slop has lowered expectations so much that showing up as your real, human self makes you stand out like a diamond in the rough YT’s algo is actively prioritising authentic, value-packed content over mass-produced junk, using AI to detect & demote spam while boosting creators who build real connections Key Notes for Content Creators & Brands 1. Understand the Purge: What Counts as ‘AI Slop’? - Repetitive, low-effort content (e.g., AI quizzes, recycled stories without original value) - Mass-produced videos lacking human touch - YT’s systems now flag this as spam - Actionable Tip: Audit your content, add personal anecdotes, unique insights, or custom visuals to avoid demotion 2) Leverage Authenticity as Your Superpower: - Platforms are rewarding “human” elements: spelling quirks, real conversations, and genuine stories - YT’s 2026 algorithm uses multimodal AI (text, visuals, audio) to boost trust scores for original work - Start human DMs or threads: AI can’t replicate that warmth 3) Embrace AI Tools Wisely: Don’t Replace Yourself - Use AI for brainstorming, editing, or avatars, but layer in human creativity to stay compliant - YT allows AI-assisted content if it’s original (e.g., their upcoming avatar tools for Shorts) - Warning: Some legit channels got caught in the crossfire restored after appeals, but it caused downtime, back up your work & monitor policies - Brand Marketing Hack: Create AI avatars for global scaling (e.g., multilingual videos), but tie them to real brand stories to maintain connection 4) Build Momentum: Start Posting Today: - “Post anything for now” isn’t dangerous, it’s momentum-building (counter to one comment), overthinking kills progress - Aim for long-term human connection as AI blurs lines (e.g., avoid over-relying on Shorts; push for long-form value) 5) Future-Proof Your Brand in an AI-Dominated World: - Prediction: By mid-2026, AI avatars could dominate niches like education or ads - Opportunity: Position as the “authentic alternative”—real voices cut through noise - Final Call to Action: Don’t get left behind. Every founder chases the same thing: growth without burning on CAC. Sat at the India D2C Summit recently and it was clear: there’s no universal playbook. A brand selling a Rs. 20,000 chair lives in a different universe compared to someone running at a Rs 1,500 AOV. Yet we all talk as if the formulas are interchangeable. Reality: CAC is not a number, it’s a strategy. It shifts by category, ticket size, margin structure, repeat rate, and distribution mix. What works for premium doesn’t work for mass-premium. What works for content-led brands fails for performance-heavy ones. And vice-versa. The only constant: founders who understand their unit economics at a microscopic level build more sustainable brands. Everything else is noise. Curious to know: what’s the most counterintuitive CAC insight you’ve discovered in your journey? #SA #secretalchemist #wellnessmadesimple #personalcarewithapurpose #aromatherapy

Kids entertainment is exploding. And AI just handed everyone a laptop studio. Top 10 Indian YouTube channels? All are from the entertainment niche. One of them is ChuChu TV, with 95M+ subscribers. Annual revenue → $16M+ Funding raised → $450M+ (Source: Tracxn) Content → 3D animated nursery rhymes Until now, creating something like that meant: ↳ A full-blown studio ↳ Voice actors, animators, designers ↳ Weeks (and $$$) to go from idea to animation But now? AI has changed everything. ✅ New creators can launch their own mini ChuChu TV ✅ Entry barriers haven’t vanished but never been this easy too How is this even possible? Yesterday, I watched this YouTube video by Website Learners It breaks down exactly how to create 3D kids animation using AI. Steps: • Generate story, characters and voiceover script → GravityWrite • Converts prompts into animated scenes → Hailuo AI • Drag-and-drop editor to sync visuals + audio → Clipchamp • Free music and sound effects → Pixabay And BOOM.. You have got your own kids’ content studio on your laptop. So the real question is: Who is building the next ChuChu TV?
