Kat Lawrence shared thisWe are so excited to welcome Maria Reyes to Jobot! With 3 1/2 years of recruiting experience, Maria's dedication and drive made her a stellar performer at her previous firm, serving an array of clients from Tech, to Manufacturing, and everything in between. At Jobot, she will continue to serve her clients in the same capacity, helping them identify great talent across industries! An adventurer at heart, when she is not recruiting she loves to travel and explore new places, especially outdoor adventures with her lab, Bella. When she is not on an outdoor trek, she enjoys testing out her Spanish and French skills, trying new cuisines, reading, trivia, she even plays the flute! 🏕 🐕 Please help me in extending a warm welcome to Maria - excited to watch you shine! ✨ #ThatJobotLife #Staffing #Recruiting #NewTeamMember #JobotFamily

Kat Lawrence shared thisWe are thrilled to welcome Ashley Hunt to Jobot! Ashley brings a wealth of experience and a passion for connecting talented individuals with their dream careers. With a last name like Hunt, it's no surprise that Ashley has a natural knack for finding the best talent out there. She's a true "hunter" in the recruiting world, and her results speak for themselves. In addition to her impressive track record in recruiting, Ashley has many interests, including being a passionate cook. Luckily for us, her audition for the Food Network did not work out, because it means we got to welcome her to Jobot. 😉 She is also a devoted mother of two and her husband is a little league coach, making their family a true baseball dynasty. Ashley was the #1 performer at her previous firm multiple years running, and we are excited to watch her excel at Jobot 🚀 Welcome to the team, Ashley and let's make 2023 your best year yet! #staffing #recruiting #thatjobotlife

Kat Lawrence shared thisThis is so cool!Kat Lawrence shared thisReady for a remote day of service? “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What have you done for others?’” - MLK Martin Luther King, Jr. and his family believed in service to others. At Jobot, we thought a lot about how we could be of service remotely. We are teaming up with Operation Gratitude to help folks give back. Plus, our Jobot Get a Job, Give a Job Foundation will donate to Black Girls CODE for each volunteer. Operation Gratitude’s focus is to help bridge our national divide and give back to first responders and people in the military by creating a care package at home. How can you help? Simple! Jobot will fund the care package and send to you. You write a nice note and put the items in the package and send away. Your $ cost? $0 Your effort? Priceless. 3 ways to give back today - do 1, 2, 3 or all! 1. Like and/or share this post so we can get a lot of volunteers 2. Volunteer? Comment: Count me in for remote service! 3. Tag anyone you think would want to volunteer If you volunteer, we will contact you for more information and donate to Black Girls Code. Looking forward to giving back to others, together! Kat Lawrence shared thisIn 2011 Michele Frank took a chance on one of the servers in Splashes Restaurant to join her Catering team on the 5th floor at the Surf & Sand Resort. I had graduated from college during the recession, so I had continued to do what I knew and loved in hospitality. The first wedding I coordinated, I didn't know which side the bride & groom stood on. But with the help of my co-workers and some incredible vendors, I learned quickly. One day, Yvette Corradini Bratt reached out to me, out of the blue after getting my contact info from a mutual friend, saying she heard I was looking for a job (I didn't even know I was looking!) and would I like to interview for her team. That planted the seed of a career in recruiting and I will forever be grateful for that since I get to continue my love of helping people. The relationships I facilitate have changed a little, but I still get to be a part of long-lasting relationships between my clients and candidates. Feeling a profound sense of gratitude that I ended up at Jobot with a leadership team that leads with respect and compassion. Thank you Heidi Golledge and Eric Coe and for all those who mentored and helped me on the way! <3 #jobotisgrateful #jobot

Kat Lawrence reacted on this*** How AI-washing is scamming recruiters *** Let me make this crystal clear. And I will try to do that in two statements. At first, they might appear contradictory, but they are far from that. Two conflicting ideas can be true at the same time. You must make up your own mind on this too, because it affects you in every way, whether you like it or not. 1: I believe clever, well-researched, thoroughly tested, and ethical AI will absorb a lot of the work currently done by recruiters. It will also be good for recruiters, candidates and clients of recruitment companies. Efficiency, accuracy and cost saving will flow, and the recruiters who have the new required skill set will thrive and be happier in their roles. 2: Much of the AI being sold to recruiters right now is flawed. It’s bad. In some cases, it is a flat-out scam. It can’t do what it promises. It’s often not even AI. Just basic automation. It’s trained on poor or incorrect data, it cannot understand context, it cannot reason, and it does not improve over time. And as for compliance, privacy and discrimination? Lord help us! It is biased, inconsistent, untested, and overpromises – but underdelivers So, I am pleading with recruiters and recruitment owners. Run towards the tech. Make it your business to understand enough to know what to look for and what to ask. The implications are enormous. You need to decide what to automate and what to keep human. You need to select quality AI that works in harmony with your tech stack and that improves over time. You need to grow the skillset in your business to get the best out of an AI/ Human hybrid world. Florian Fisch, a German recruiter with a keen interest in AI and real tech solutions for the recruitment industry, saw my warnings on this and wrote me a piece for The Savage Truth. So over to Florian. Here is the piece by Florian Fisch on the Savage Recruitment Academy blog https://lnkd.in/e8ty5kPa

To the amazing leaders, recruiters, and CyberCoders support crew, THANK YOU! I can’t distil nine years of memories in one post, but I can say the opportunities, challenges, successes, and most importantly, the people, completely changed my life. I started this journey as an ambitious kid with basic skills, and today I’m leaving humbled and confident in my ability to lead, mentor, and deliver across any vertical that needs staffing support. To my clients and candidates: thank you for your trust and collaboration over the years. 🙏 To Lauren Formby, Nitu Gulati-Pauly, Shane Lamb, Aaron Frankel, Cody Friend, Jason Kuna, Matt Lynch, Marissa M. Gonzales, Samuel Leos, Edwin Ocampo, MBA, Robbin Owens, and the rest of the CyberCoders crew - Thank you so much for all the memories, laughs, guidance, and support. I wouldn’t be here without you, and I’m incredibly grateful for our time together. 💌 I’m excited for the road ahead and look forward to more success!

Kat Lawrence reacted on thisKat Lawrence reacted on thisRecruiter confession: I’ve watched good candidates get ghosted — not because anyone meant to, but because of what happens behind the scenes that nobody talks about. The hiring manager stops responding. The role gets quietly put on hold. A reorg gets announced. Budget shifts. And suddenly the recruiter is stuck in the middle — with a candidate who deserves an answer and nothing real to give them. So they wait for something concrete to share. And the longer they wait, the harder the conversation gets. Eventually… time passes. And the candidate never hears back. It’s not malicious. It’s not personal. It’s a process that was never really designed with the candidate in mind. The hardest part? The recruiter usually feels it too. They remember that person. They just didn’t know how to say: “I don’t have a real update — and I know that’s frustrating.” If you’ve been ghosted, there’s a good chance this is where things broke down. Not an excuse. But maybe an explanation.

Kat Lawrence reacted on thisKat Lawrence reacted on thisI grew up with a general contractor and a senator for a grandfather. He was always working, whether on another home build or on passing laws to keep rural schools open. He was a hard ass. Stubborn. High expectations. The hardest worker in every room. But most importantly, he was loving. I would walk in the room and hear "Chelsea Welsea", and he couldn't wait to tease me or give me advice. I grew up listening to my Grandpa talk about how important it was to work hard and save your money. He was the grandson of pioneers who came over from Sweden and arrived in North Dakota in a covered wagon. He was born during the Great Depression, growing up on the family farm where I spent my summers. I'd be outside adventuring, following him close enough to watch but far enough away so I wasn't lured into labor. He was always learning and tinkering. He had a high school education, yet built a thriving construction business and served the people of North Dakota for 40 years. As a child, I didn't realize it, but he was a fierce advocate for children's education and rural schools. Today, many credit him with saving North Dakota's rural schools and ensuring rural children have easier access to an education. All men hold opinions, but few men are held by their convictions. My grandfather was a man of conviction. As he aged, he softened in his advice. Instead of "save your money," it became "spend your money while you're healthy!" And he was always sure to tell me how proud he was of me. I might have inherited his stubbornness, expectations, passion projects and hard work, but most importantly, his love and conviction. His parting sentiment was, "I never have to worry about you, Chels. You've built a great career, and I know you can take care of yourself." For him, that was the biggest compliment of them all. Give your elders a squeeze. Time is limited, even in the most generous of lives. Miss you, LW ❤️ Layton W. Freborg, May 13, 1933 – February 20, 2026

Kat Lawrence reacted on thisKat Lawrence reacted on thisOne of the most important leadership lessons I learned early in my career came from my first woman manager at Digital Equipment Corporation. When a coworker and I discovered that we made a significant accounting error, we immediately told her. She walked with us into the executive leadership meeting and took responsibility for the issue instead of calling out her team. She also once told me, “I want to teach you everything I know so I can go on vacation.” Her message was clear: great leaders share knowledge, build capability in others, and create an environment of trust. On International Women’s Day, I’m grateful for leaders like Valerie Gavin who shape careers in ways that last decades. Thank you Val - let's catch up soon! #IWD26

Kat Lawrence liked thisKat Lawrence liked thisRight at the start of a transformational acquisition, my Sr. Director of M&A left the company. It was just the two of us running the entire M&A function. He was former investment banking and private equity. Taught me everything I know. Handed me the playbook and took me under his wing the entire time I was there. And then he was gone. I thought they'd backfill the role. Instead they promoted me from Manager to Director and told me to drive the process. Trial by fire. Multiple sites. A third-party seller who was the most sophisticated counterparty I had faced. He understood the transaction process, knew value-based care and oncology inside out, and recognized exactly how much strategic value his locations held for our platform. I had my attorneys, but I was the one at the table handling the business deal point negotiations directly. Balancing speed and quality while negotiating against someone who understood exactly how much we needed the deal. Through those negotiations I found more value than I expected - across employment terms, lease economics, and indemnification provisions. The deal almost died multiple times. Looking back, I earned more from that single deal than from any training or certification. But I also know that if I had AI to help me prepare - feeding it context about the seller's position, their contract structure, their leverage points - I could have found even more room in those negotiations and gotten there faster. The tools are changing. The lessons don't. What's a deal that taught you more than any classroom ever could? #HealthcareMA #DealNegotiation #CorporateDevelopment

Hear what I had to say about the state of the Las Vegas economy in a follow up interview with the LVRJ. Robert Half jobs expert Ryan Berger spoke with the Las Vegas Review Journal about the state of local hiring. While hiring has become more measured, there are bright spots in the market: "Many companies are cautious due to economic uncertainty and a softer tourism sector, but seasonal and contract opportunities remain steady." #RobertHalf #seasonalhiring #jobmarket https://bit.ly/3J04wxX

🚨 Sacramento / Northern California Staffing Leaders We Need You in the Room. If you own or manage a staffing firm and cannot attend Legislative Day (3/10), please make every effort to join us for the Networking Reception on Monday night (3/9) at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento from 5p-7p. A NEW BILL — SB1032 — is being proposed that will directly impact staffing companies and our clients statewide. 👉 https://bit.ly/4s9mvTJ At its core, SB1032 is intended to eliminate unethical firms (and certain brokers) manipulating fraudulent Workers’ Compensation certificates and classification codes — practices that undermine our industry and expose clients to significant liability. That objective is important! However — as currently written — there are provisions that lack clarity and could create serious unintended consequences for legitimate, compliant staffing firms who are operating ethically and servicing clients responsibly. This is exactly why engagement matters. Policy is shaped by those who show up. If you are in this industry, this affects you. Period. There is strength in numbers. Get informed. Get involved. Approximately 20% of small businesses fail in their first year and roughly 50% fail within five years. By the 10-year mark, about 65% of small businesses have closed. 📊 August 2025 Employment Situation – BLS Update The U.S. labor market held steady in August: * +22,000 jobs added overall, with little change since April * Unemployment rate at 4.3% (7.4M people) * Labor force participation: 62.3% (flat from July, down 0.4 pp YoY) * Healthcare (+31k) and Social Assistance (+16k) drove gains *Offsetting declines in Federal Government (-15k), Manufacturing (-12k, including -15k in transportation equipment due to strikes), and Wholesale Trade (-12k) * Average hourly earnings: $36.53 (+3.7% YoY) * Average workweek: 34.2 hours 📉 Revisions: June adjusted down to -13,000, July revised up to +79,000 (net -21,000 jobs). 🔎 Takeaway: Growth remains uneven — healthcare is a bright spot, while goods-producing industries continue to lag. Wages are rising faster than inflation, helping sustain consumer spending. #rpo #staffing #jobsreport #labormarket #unemploymentrate #recruiting #talentacquisition #retention #talent

Recruitment Owners: Thinking about adding contract staffing in 2026? Before you do, run through this quick checklist. Can you fund weekly payroll while clients pay in 30 to 60 days? Do you know your true gross margins after overtime, benefits, and compliance costs? Can you onboard contractors within 24 to 48 hours without manual bottlenecks? Are you prepared for multi-state tax, workers comp, and classification rules? Do your systems scale beyond quarterly placements? The Contract Staffing Playbook I just read lays this out clearly. It even includes a full readiness checklist that forces you to think through funding, compliance, onboarding speed, and margin math before you make the switch. What I appreciated most is that it does not just talk about growth. It talks about infrastructure. Contract staffing can create durable, recurring revenue. But only if the backend is built for it. If this is part of your growth plan, I dropped the link in the comments. It is worth reviewing before you make the move. I wish I would have had this from the start!
