Jimmy Augustine liked thisJimmy Augustine liked this𝗘𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗕 𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁, 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗔 𝗮𝘂𝗳𝘇𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗻. Drei intensive Tage auf der DEXIT – Die Auswanderer Konferenz in München liegen hinter mir - mit vielen spannenden Gesprächen, neuen Kontakten und vor allem unterschiedlichen Perspektiven darauf, wie Menschen heute über ihre Zukunft nachdenken. Was mir dabei besonders aufgefallen ist: Die Diskussion über Auswandern hat sich verändert. Es geht längst nicht mehr ausschließlich um die Frage: „In welchem Land möchte ich leben?“ Sondern zunehmend um größere strategische Themen: • Wie schaffe ich mir internationale Optionen? • Wie diversifiziere ich Vermögen über Länder und Märkte hinweg? • Welche Rolle spielen Residency oder eine zweite Staatsbürgerschaft? • Wie wichtig werden Sicherheit, steuerliche Rahmenbedingungen und persönliche Freiheit? • Und wie kann ein persönlicher „Plan B“ aussehen, ohne Plan A aufzugeben? Denn internationale Diversifikation muss nicht bedeuten, seinem Heimatland den Rücken zu kehren. Sie kann auch bedeuten, sich bewusst zusätzliche Optionen zu schaffen – für Vermögen, Unternehmen, Familie und die eigene Zukunft. Auch Citizenship war ein spannendes Thema auf der DEXIT, zu dem mein Kollege Felix Weinstok in seinem Vortrag interessante Einblicke gab. Neben den fachlichen Impulsen waren für mich vor allem die persönlichen Begegnungen und das Netzwerk besonders wertvoll. Vielen Dank an Christoph Heuermann und das gesamte Team hinter der DEXIT und Staatenlos für die gelungene Veranstaltung und den Raum für einen offenen Austausch über Themen, die für viele Unternehmer und Investoren zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnen. Sehr gefreut habe ich mich auch über den Austausch mit Joschi Haunsperger. Als jemand, der seit vielen Jahren Unternehmer miteinander vernetzt, teilt er eine Überzeugung, die auch für mich immer wichtiger wird: Die Qualität eines Netzwerks entscheidet sich nicht an der Anzahl der Kontakte, sondern an den Beziehungen dahinter. Und auch die vergangenen Tage mit meinem neuen Kollegen Timotheus Jansen boten viele Gelegenheiten für spannende Gespräche und einen intensiveren Austausch. Herzlich willkommen im Team, Timo - ich freue mich auf die Zusammenarbeit und viele spannende gemeinsame Projekte! 🙌 Mein Fazit nach diesem Wochenende: 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗵𝗲𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝘂̈𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁, 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘇𝘂 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮̈𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻. 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗵𝗲𝗶𝘁 𝘇𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗻, 𝘄𝗮̈𝗵𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝘇𝘂 𝗸𝗼̈𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗻! "The aspiring need the inspiring" And I’ve been thinking about it ever since. Because I think we need BOTH. The aspiring need people to look at and think: “If they can do it, maybe I can too.” Not because they want to copy someone else’s career. But because sometimes you need a reference point. Someone who makes the thing you’re working towards feel possible. Someone who shows you what the next step could look like. And equally… The inspiring need the aspiring. Because what’s the point of reaching a certain stage in your career if you never turn around and show someone else that the path exists? We talk a lot about mentors, role models and people giving back. But I think it can be much simpler than that. Inspiring someone isn't about being on a billboard or on Forbes. It's sharing your journey. It's talking openly about the opportunities you’ve had. It's being honest about the setbacks. It's celebrating the things you’ve achieved. Letting people see what’s possible. And if you’re the person aspiring right now? Don't underestimate the value of finding people who inspire you. Follow them. Learn from them. Ask questions. Watch their journey. Let their success expand your idea of what might be possible for you. And if you’re the person someone else is looking at? Keep showing them. You might not realise it, but you could be someone’s reference point. Because the aspiring need the inspiring. And the inspiring need people who are willing to aspire. We need both. PS- Naturally, I had to get up and perform some of my poetry! (This was such a fun event, hosted in a coffee shop!) ☕

That's the argument I'm considering for the AI for Defense Summit in Washington, D.C. I'm on the panel that opens Day 2 — Governance at Speed and Scale: Building Trust in Military AI — Thursday, September 3rd, 9:00am. We've been handed the hard version of the question: how do the services maintain human oversight and mitigate risk in AI-enabled systems while still moving at the speed required by the warfighter? And which frameworks hold up in an operational environment, as opposed to in a policy memo? And no matter where I am in the world, one thing always stands out: There is something incredibly powerful about bringing women together. Different countries. Different cultures. Different backgrounds. Yet the same ambition, the same courage to grow, and the same desire to make an impact. Watching women connect, support one another, share their stories, and inspire each other reminds me why I love what I do. It’s never just about the stage. It’s about the conversations that happen afterward, the connections that are built, and the confidence that grows when women lift each other up. Grateful for every opportunity to inspire, learn, and empower women around the world. This is only the beginning. #WomenInLeadership
