Jennifer D'Angelo reposted thisJennifer D'Angelo reposted thisThis just in: Unilever is exploring the sale of its food business to McCormick in a potential ~$30B deal. While no deal is confirmed, the move reflects broader shifts across the food and beverage industry, with companies prioritizing simplicity over scale, portfolio focus over diversification, and responding to increasing margin pressure. That said, key questions remain: Can a smaller player like McCormick absorb a business of Unilever’s scale? And how will the company navigate post-integration challenges across brands, systems, and operations? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Jennifer D'Angelo reposted thisJennifer D'Angelo reposted thisWhen IBP meetings become a burden instead of productive, it's time for a reset. A private label food manufacturer had been on its IBP journey for years, but the process had stalled. Inconsistent data, unclear meeting structures, and misaligned participation left leadership without the visibility they needed to make confident supply and demand decisions. Catena’s approach: → Diagnosed gaps across all stakeholder groups → Benchmarked against best-in-class IBP frameworks → Streamlined meeting cadence and standardized content → Built Power BI and Excel models for consistent reporting The result: A transformed IBP process that gave stakeholders hours back each month, improved decision quality, and created a foundation for continuous improvement. Jennifer D'Angelo reposted thisJennifer D'Angelo reposted thisToday, on International Women's Day, we find ourselves reflecting on a gap that the data has documented for decades and that the industry has yet to fully close. Women represent nearly half of the STEM workforce in entry-level roles, yet that representation drops significantly as careers advance. The pipeline exists. The talent is there. What gets in the way is access to mentorship, to networks, to the kind of early-career support that helps people find their footing and stay. That is the problem AdaMarie was built to address. Named after Ada Lovelace and Marie Curie, AdaMarie is a professional network for early-career, rising, and career-changing STEM professionals — now more than 25,000 members strong — focused on the moments that matter most: the first 0-8 years, when careers are shaped, and decisions about staying or leaving are often made. We are proud of the community that has grown around this work. And on a day like today, we are reminded of why it matters. Progress in STEM fields depends on who gets to participate. Jennifer D'Angelo reposted thisJennifer D'Angelo reposted thisResearch shows that employees are becoming less aligned with organizational goals. In 2024, Axios reported that 44% of leaders believed their employees were aligned with company goals. In 2025, that number dropped to just 27%. “Strategy doesn’t fail because leaders lack vision. It fails because teams don’t see how their work connects to that vision,” said Dave Minor, VP of Delivery at Catena Solutions. Jennifer D'Angelo reacted on thisJennifer D'Angelo reacted on thisSupply Chain has always moved the world forward—and women have been doing the moving, even when history didn’t always record their names. This Women’s History Month, I’m honoring the progress of our field with a few “Then & Now” moments that show just how far we’ve come—and how much further we can go. Then: Luella Bates (1918) One of the first women in the U.S. to earn a commercial truck driver’s license, proving that logistics leadership didn’t start in the boardroom—it started behind the wheel. Now: Carol Tomé – CEO, UPS Leading one of the largest logistics networks on the planet, overseeing millions of daily deliveries across 200+ countries. Then: Women barred from dock, rail, and warehouse roles For decades, maritime, rail, and industrial logistics roles were legally or culturally closed to women. Now: Tracy Robinson – CEO, Canadian National Railway Leading a critical North American rail network, shaping the movement of goods across borders at scale. Then: Supply chain “support work” quietly done by women Planning, scheduling, and coordination were often invisible—and undervalued. Now: Indra Nooyi – Former CEO, PepsiCo Redefined global supply chains by integrating sustainability, resilience, and long‑term value into one of the world’s most complex consumer networks. Then: No seat at the decision table Women rarely influenced sourcing strategy, risk management, or capital investment. Now: Roz Brewer – Former CEO, Walgreens Boots Alliance Led one of the world’s largest retail and healthcare supply chains, overseeing transformation at massive scale. Then: Many professionals forced to "stay invisible" at work Authenticity at work was often a risk—especially in traditional industries. Now: Beth Ford – CEO, Land O’Lakes The first openly lesbian CEO of a Fortune 500 company, leading a farmer‑owned cooperative at the heart of food, agriculture, and supply chain resilience. To the women who moved goods when they weren’t supposed to, and to those leading global networks today: thank you for building the supply chains we all rely on. #WomensHistoryMonth #SupplyChain #ThenAndNow #Leadership #RepresentationMatters #WomenInSupplyChain

What stayed with me wasn’t any single moment, but the consistency of execution across one of our fastest-moving markets. From our focus on innovation, time in retail stores listening to our customers, and visiting our newest M&M’S store at Shanghai Disney Resort's Disneytown, there’s a real sense of momentum and progress. We wrapped up the week with a Mars Associate Town Hall – a true highlight. I had a chance to hear directly from the team, and I was struck by the curiosity, energy and ownership they bring every day. A huge thanks to Larry Feng and our Associates for bringing our brands to life each day. Looking forward to what this team will continue to accomplish in the future. #ProudlyMars #SnackingIsBetterTogether

Jennifer D'Angelo reacted on thisJennifer D'Angelo reacted on thisSomeone handed me a book a few years ago called Survive, Reset, Thrive by Rebecca Homkes. I want to share the framework because I have found myself returning to it more than almost anything else I have read. There are moments in business and leadership when you are just surviving, managing through conditions you did not choose and cannot fully control. The instinct is to push harder and do more of what worked before, but that instinct is often wrong. What comes next is where most leaders struggle. The reset is not a pause or a pivot. It is the hardest move in the sequence. It requires you to assess honestly and accept that the path forward is not the path that got you here. It asks you to let go of what worked, before you know what will replace it. Most organizations never fully make this move. They survive, and then they try to sprint, and they wonder why it isn't working. When you do the reset well, something shifts. The right people are engaged. The strategy is differentiated. Customers feel the difference, and so does the team. Energy returns before the results do, and that is how you know you are no longer resetting. That is thrive. I have worked through five recessions and more headwinds than I can count. That experience is what made this framework land so hard when I first read it, because I recognized every stage from the inside. There are stretches where you are running in mud, and everything takes twice the effort for half the result. And then something shifts, and you are sprinting again. The leaders who make it through are not necessarily the ones with the best strategy. They are the ones who can read which stage they are in and respond to that reality rather than the one they wish they were in. Where are you right now? Make a difference, Leo

🚩 Red Flags We See in 2025 Resumes (That You Should Fix ASAP!) 🟥 Generic Summaries That Say Nothing Your summary is your elevator pitch—not just a space to say you're “motivated” or a “team player.” Be specific about what you bring to the table and tailor it to the role you're targeting. 🟥 Overly Designed Formats Yes, visuals matter—but if your resume looks like a magazine ad, it may not pass through ATS systems. Stick to clean, professional formatting that both humans and algorithms can read. 🟥 Lack of Results or Impact Simply listing duties isn’t enough in 2025. Employers want to see how you made a difference—quantify achievements with data and metrics wherever possible. 🟥 Missing Keywords If your resume doesn’t reflect the language of the job description, it might never be seen. Make sure you're speaking the same “lingo” as the roles you're applying to, especially when it comes to tools, technologies, and soft skills. 🟥 Outdated Experience That Overcrowds the Page Resumes aren't career timelines—they're marketing documents. Focus on the most relevant 10–15 years, and trim down anything that’s no longer aligned with your goals. 📩 If you have any HR staffing needs, please reach out to me at Julie jellinger@ossanna.com. Approaching the need to hire HR for your growing business? An entry-level HR Generalist can handle onboarding, paperwork, and benefits support. But at $40k–$50k, you are unlikely to get someone who can confidently manage compliance, risk, employee relations issues, or guide managers through real-world situations. Even “basic” HR work requires context, judgment, and experience. Without experienced HR in place, small mistakes can quietly turn into big problems, and the liability still sits with your business. That’s where fractional HR makes a difference. Using fractional HR gives you: * Experienced HR leadership without the cost of a full-time hire * Policies and procedures that are practical, compliant, and clearly communicated * Employee relations and risk management handled professionally * Coaching and guidance for managers and leadership Fractional HR allows growing companies to build a strong HR foundation, reduce risk, and make confident people decisions. It’s a smarter way to access the expertise your business needs without overloading your budget or relying solely on entry-level hires. If your organization is ready to grow responsibly and strategically, fractional HR may be the right next step.
