James Byles reposted thisJames Byles reposted thisNine years ago, with our fabulous Georgetown BID team, I launched a new holiday light art experience called Georgetown GLOW to invite visitors to “reimagine the season of light.” We were inspired by light art festivals that were growing in numbers around the world and knew our neighborhood was the perfect backdrop for this juxtaposition of contemporary public art against a historic environs. We started with a humble budget, curiosity, and perseverance. Now we are opening our 9th edition on December 1 and I couldn’t be more thankful and proud to work with the best to make this happen! It is a huge team effort with Debbie Young Lauren Boston Louisa Nanan John Wiebenson Matt Millage Joe Sternlieb Michael Summey Faith Broderick @nat cannon And much thanks to our Board of Directors and GLOW Committee who support us year after year. James Byles liked thisJames Byles liked thisMost of us want to work smarter, not harder. The right shift moves us from more grit, more push, more hours into a better version of ourselves. Performance = Potential − Interference. Here's the catch: identifying and eliminating interference can feel elusive. You can't paint a chair while you're sitting in it. You can't read the label from inside the bottle. That's why I'm sharing a daily question all month: One interference at a time, made visible. Sleep debt you've called normal. Energy borrowed from caffeine and cortisol. Certainty you're using as an excuse not to act. Focus on less friction, not more effort. What's the interference you can't see because you're standing inside it?
