Howard Lindzon shared thisone of the best wealth secrets people dont take advantage of...Howard Lindzon shared thisMost advisors have never heard of a box spread. Even fewer know you can borrow money through one. Here's how it actually works. Say I need $95,000 today. I use a box spread to make a promise to the market: I'll pay back $100,000 in a year. The other side of that trade — usually a hedge fund — sees a guaranteed return backed by the OCC, the clearinghouse that sits behind every options trade. The return is locked in, so they're willing to give me the cheapest rate they can. So they give me $95,000 now. I pay back $100,000 later. That $5,000 difference is my cost of financing. That's what we built at SyntheticFi — the infrastructure that makes this trade accessible to financial advisors and their clients. No bank. No underwriting. No questions about what you're using the money for. What used to require a $10 million minimum and a call to a trading desk, we've made available starting at $10,000. The mechanics are the same ones hedge funds have used for decades. We just made it accessible to more people. If you're an RIA and want to learn more about how we can help your clients, check SyntheticFi out. 🔗 Link in comments #WealthManagement #FinancialAdvisors #BoxSpreads #PortfolioLending #SyntheticFi #RIA #AlternativeLending #OptionsTrading #FinancialPlanning #Fintech Rates may vary. Box spread strategies involve risk. Rate comparisons are based on specific assumptions and results are not guaranteed. Not suitable for all investors.

Howard Lindzon reposted thisHoward Lindzon reposted thisHoward Lindzon has called $YOU (CLEAR Secure) the “Degen Stock of the Week” — and the thesis is simple: When TSA lines stretch for hours, convenience becomes a necessity, not a luxury. CLEAR is capitalizing on that shift, turning frustration with public infrastructure into a premium consumer experience. The Stocktwits community is buzzing. Some see $YOU as a stock that could keep growing because once people experience skipping long TSA lines, they won’t want to go back. Others think it’s just a licensing business that can only go so far. Which side do you fall on, big growth or limited upside?

In the latest episode of The Howard Lindzon Show, Howard and Michele Steele dive into the volatility of Truth Social and why "TSA dysfunction" is the best free marketing for the newest Degen Stock of the Week, CLEAR. They also discuss the upcoming Cash Tag Awards at the NYSE and why Robinhood’s pivot into betting might be a major branding risk for long-term investors. Full conversation: https://lnkd.in/daKpJR_z

Howard Lindzon reposted thisHoward Lindzon reposted thisFast Company just named Ribbon one of the most innovative companies in the world. Here's what that actually looked like behind the scenes: two years of people telling us this would never work. Candidates will hate talking to an AI. Recruiters will never trust it. Enterprises will never buy it. We heard some version of that in almost every meeting for the first year. Then one recruiter tried it. She interviewed 300 candidates overnight. She told someone, that person told their VP, and it spread from there. Now we've done over a million AI interviews. Harvard Business Review analyzed 70,000 of them and published a full report. Fortune 100 companies run tens of thousands a month on our platform. Nobody who said this would never work was wrong to be skeptical. AI interviewing sounds weird. It sounded weird to me when we started. We just built it anyway.

Howard Lindzon reposted thisHoward Lindzon reposted thisOur startup SyntheticFi didn't start as a whiteboard eureka moment. It was developed from an idea when I tried to help a billionaire family buy a ranch in Texas. In 2021, I was 23 and working at a single‑family office in Dallas. The family wanted to buy a ranch and asked me to find the best possible borrowing rate. We had a prime brokerage relationship with a major Wall Street firm, but the relationship was strained. The family didn't trust the rate they were quoting us to borrow. So I started researching alternatives. I called former colleagues from my time at The D. E. Shaw Group. I asked around at hedge funds and I scoured Reddit. One idea that kept coming up was box spreads. There was a subreddit called r/PMTraders (it stands for portfolio margin traders) that kept mentioning box spreads as a cheap borrowing method. A box spread is an options strategy that replicates a loan. You combine two spreads on the same underlying index. The result is a fixed repayment obligation at a rate tied to the risk-free rate, not a bank's spread. Hedge funds had been doing it for years. Most individual investors had no idea it existed. I made some calls to Cboe Global Markets. I found an NBER working paper that confirmed the math and realized we could borrow 50 to 75 basis points cheaper than the investment bank was quoting us. We bet the ranch on it, so to speak. After the transaction, I tried to do one for myself but was told the minimum borrowing amount was $10 million. I didn't have $10 million. That was the problem that my co-founder Tony Yang and I wanted to solve. We launched SyntheticFi to give RIAs and their clients access to the same strategy. We went through the 2023 Y Combinator program and launched officially a year later. It’s now possible to borrow as little as $10,000 against your investments in a brokerage account at a firm like Charles Schwab as collateral and still save big on rates. Everyone’s a billionaire now.

Fundraising cycles are longer. LP scrutiny is higher. And the firms that win allocations today aren’t the ones who “start raising” when Fund IV kicks off. They’re the ones who stay ready every single day. Here's why operational excellence, connected data, and daily investor readiness are now the strongest differentiators in private capital—plus what leading firms do differently. 👉 Read the blog: The Firms That Raise Every Day https://hubs.la/Q03ZQZYS0 #RaiseEveryDay #PrivateCapital #IRExcellence #Fundraising

Most fund managers talk about VaR. Smart fund managers talk about LaR. 📉 Position sizing is where most portfolios get into trouble: not because the thesis was wrong, but because the exit door was too small. At Mogul Strategies, we keep sizing honest by integrating Liquidity at Risk (LaR). We are thrilled to share our internal framework for keeping capital agile. Here is a simple 4-step implementation guide: 1. Set your Exit Window: Decide how many days you are willing to spend unwinding a position without moving the market. 2. Analyze ADV: Look at the 30-day Average Daily Volume for the asset. 3. Calculate the Cap: Limit your position to a set percentage (e.g., 10%) of the total liquidity available during your exit window. 4. The Reality Check: Compare your conviction size with your liquidity size. Take the smaller of the two. Always. This discipline ensures that even in volatile markets, our portfolios remain liquid and resilient. We are excited to continue pushing these standards for our institutional and accredited partners. 🫡 Curious about our approach to risk mitigation? 📘 Expert Insight: The New “Matlack” Formula ✍️ By Tom Matlack, Investor, Mentor, and Board Member Eight years after proposing his original approach to better align incentives in Search Fund performance equity, Tom Matlack is back with a timely and thoughtful update. As the SF ecosystem matures, with more complex cash flows and a shift in focus from IRR to MOIC, Tom presents a refined framework that offers clearer, fairer, and more practical guidance for structuring performance equity. 🔍 Key takeaways: - A tiered MOIC structure: 20% of performance equity at 3.0x MOIC, scaling up to 100% at 5.0x+ - A minimum 20% IRR hurdle to unlock any performance equity - A focus on longer-term holds (5–10 years), rewarding sustained value creation This formula aims to simplify alignment between entrepreneurs and investors while reflecting how outcomes are actually discussed in today’s deals. 📄 Read the full article here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/dy6b2-QW 📘 And to dive deeper into the topic, we highly recommend reading this excellent complementary piece: Vesting of performance-based stock: Observations on the use of the Matlack formula ✍️ By Frank van Lint, Daan Staffhorst, and Stijn van Lint – Dellin Investments 🔗 https://lnkd.in/d4VRZdVF Their perspective offers practical guidance for investors, searchers, and board members navigating the implementation of performance equity frameworks. 📢 Big News for Multi-Asset Crypto Exposure: Grayscale’s GDLC Gets SEC Approval for NYSE Arca Listing! The U.S. SEC has officially approved the listing and trading of Grayscale’s Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) on NYSE Arca – a milestone for regulated crypto investment products. 🔍 What’s Inside GDLC? ▫️ Bitcoin (BTC) – 72% allocation ▫️ Ethereum (ETH) – 17% allocation ▫️ XRP – 5.62% allocation ▫️ Solana (SOL) – 4.03% allocation ▫️ Cardano (ADA) – 1% allocation This approval enables investors to gain broad, regulated exposure to the top 5 crypto assets under one umbrella. Notably, the fund recently reduced its BTC weightage to increase allocations in ETH, XRP, SOL, and ADA – signaling a more diversified approach. 🔍 Why It Matters: ▫️ First-of-its-kind regulated multi-asset crypto fund on NYSE Arca. ▫️ Builds on Grayscale’s legal win over the SEC, which accelerated the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs. ▫️Sets the stage for future multi-asset crypto ETFs as regulatory clarity improves. ETF expert Nate Geraci praised Grayscale for “laying the groundwork” for crypto ETFs, noting how the SEC’s decision ties directly to Grayscale’s lawsuit and the new Crypto ETF Rule relying on futures contracts traded on regulated venues. 💡 This is more than just a listing — it’s another step toward mainstream institutional adoption of diversified crypto products. #Grayscale #GDLC #CryptoETF #DigitalAssets #Innovation https://lnkd.in/g3VUS7vV
